Bank Verification Number, BVN, is a CBN initiative to check fraud in the banking system by giving every customer in the Nigerian banking system a unique identification number.
However, the CBN States that the bvn registration which in past week has caused a huge congestion in our banks Nationwide will close on the tommorrow(30th of june, 2015).
Streetgist correspondent who visted some banks in ogun state and lagos state learnt that Huge congestion hit 75percents of bank…

I had not been verified. For me to queue and wait endlessly for the snail speed operation is quite impossible.

CBN has to extend d date. I havent done mine. The nearest bank to me is N500 away. And my own bank is N1200 away.

9ja wth dem mentality

This bvn ish just shows the kind of attitude majority of Nigerians have - "last-minute" attitude, very reactive and not proactive. The same thing affects our government, wait till the last minute before doing the needful. We had a whole year to do this, but some of us just prefer the last two days.

I was in bank last friday nd I saw pple wu cam for their bvn card nd they were given. Maybe u shud go nd check for urs at ur bank.
