I'm surprised that people are surprised as Buhari fired his CSO. The moment he issued a counter memo ordering DSS operatives in return to be close security details of Buhari, I knew that his days as CSO were numbered. In fact, his minutes were numbered. Actually, I expected him to be fired immediately. He didn't seem to know the position of the ADC. Anyone can say anything. I've always said that I've never been a fan of Buhari, but now he's President, national security comes first. He DSS is rotten. Buhari fired understands that he needs to purge that department and that's the exactly what he's doing. We just have to learn to live with that.

In the DSS, there are officers and men who have been fiercely pro-PMB and anti-GEJ. Most agencies and institutions in Nigeria will do with some cleansing. And much as we hate to admit it (not that I support it), the leadership of the security agencies have always and will always be "loyal" to the government in power. Sorry to disappoint you, the new appointees may do it with better finesse or semblance of restraint, but it’s always the rule -"loyalty".

For your information, the new CSO is a DSS personnel and DSS will always produce the CSO. All that was required, which is what he has now done, is to change the concerned DSS officers including the DG and replace them with those he feels he can trust. But the way the whole thing has become a media hype because of some power play which we cant discuss on a public forum like this, is the issue. Anyway, the gladiators will end the media campaig shortly. Please dont take most issues on their face value. They were issues within the DSS no doubt but hey, there are issues in most other agencies. There is a reason why there was emphasis on this one, beyond what you've read. Good night sir!
