Saintsalam, that is a sweeping statement. I would rather you have couched it better. The question one is forced to ask you is whether there is empirical evidence for the claim you made. Me ooo, I have met some romantic 9aija babes both home and abroad. Where you de "harvest" your own babes? In fact, a couple of babes claim that 9aija guys are not romantic? The question is, what does being romantic mean? Is is being sexy or is it about sending flowers and whispering sweet nothings. Please, educate us. |
Re: Nigerian Girls Are Not Romantic: Why? by whitelexi(m): 4:42pm On Nov 06, 2006 |
being sexy has nothing to do with being romantic, Sweet words, actions that blow the mind, stuff u never expected, stuff u see in movies that bring tears to ur eyes, If other girls can do it to their men, why cant ours? Yet they will expect a man to do and overdo just to please them |
Re: Nigerian Girls Are Not Romantic: Why? by mazaje(m): 6:58pm On Nov 06, 2006 |
Just as whitelexi said being romantic is all about, sweet words. suprises and things u never expected like giving u a call when u are in school or at work to tell u she loves u and misses u,kisses at moments u never expected just to show she appreciates your love for her, rubbing your feet and giving u a massage when u get back home from work or school, having candle light dinners, taking romantic trips to the zoo or park, suprise birth day parties, taking u out for a dinner for two, knowing how to appreciate love and express her love, not nagging and making trouble all the time and so on and on, i know some girls that do that but most don't because they arent used to it. most girls in nigeria will prefer u to give them 2 thousand naira than to take them on a candle ligth dinner, most will prefer u buy them call credit than a rose flower because they arent used to such things so its up to the guys to teach them if u know how to they will learn to do the same in other to show their appreciation. |

i so hate the system this naija chics r using. The criteria to get a girl presently is so annoying. Why should a girl be tripped 4 recharge cards n money, this girls dnt even knw wats love, they dnt even want 2 knw wat a guy is planning 4 the future 4 himself.I hate them so much that am lookin 4 an international chic 2 date and really am speaking frm experience and encounters.U girls ahould pls become more reasonable n understanding,100 guyz cant be saying the same thing n u girls think we r just blabbing, its the truth. |

You're spot on right, Crazy Kid! Thing is, these ladies in Nigeria seems to be living in the past. No attempts whatsoever to get with the program of this jet age where "if you don't know, act like you know". But then, it'll be too hard for them cause these ladies are too engrossed in viewing Naija Home Videos where rebuffs is their own way of showing romance. "Leave me jo", "Abeg wetin" and you know, they actually want affection!Pretense is the order of the day. It's a n affront to kiss or hold them in public and a even damning belief that a lady is simply wanton if she shows excessive feelings for a man. Can you beat that? |
Re: Nigerian Girls Are Not Romantic: Why? by tochi(f): 7:18am On Nov 08, 2006 |
@ Whitelexi who wanted to see a romantic nigerian girl, here I am! I am not trying to be arrogant but I am one of the biggest romantics(not just Nigerian but in general)! I believe both mine and his romanticness (pardon my grammer) is the reason why I have such a great relationship, I believe it is all about reciprocity! Its not the end result of what I do or what he does that matters, its the thot! He made me a really big birthday card for my birthday and even though the end product was tacky, it is the best gift i ever got because he spent endless hours making it! That to me is romantic! I spend time thinking about what i can do to make his day; i even send flowers to him at the office, i make him pancakes in the middle of the night when he is hungry, i buy him spiderman boxers cos he loves the movie and all sorts of little things like that is what makes me romantic. He appreciates me for all that I am and puts in the effort to make sure I am happy and well taken care of (and yes, sometimes it seldom involves finances) but that doesnt make me less of a romantic or less of a woman. It makes me Chukwuemeka's pride and joy! @ Choongtin what do you mean "you havn't slept with all the girls so how do you know they are all not romantic"? What does sex have to do with being romantic? |

Re: Nigerian Girls Are Not Romantic: Why? by lonelypal(m): 5:27pm On Nov 12, 2006 |
When talking about romance in relationships, it all borders on the calibre of the parties involve in such relationship, For most paco girls believe me the first thing that will cme to her mind isn't romance but wat to eat, wear, n how to milk the guy out! besides most Nigerians do not really value true romance, so it all depends on the kind of girl u r going out with. |

Re: Nigerian Girls Are Not Romantic: Why? by alexis(m): 9:38am On Nov 13, 2006 |
I will disagree that Nigerian girls are not romantic, before anybody cut my head off, I am speaking for myself and from personal experience, I haven't dated every Nigerian girl, I have dated two and they were sweet, wonderful and romantic. Everybody was raised differently and this will affect your relationship as well. |
Re: Nigerian Girls Are Not Romantic: Why? by osegwu(m): 12:19pm On Nov 14, 2006 |
No be our girls fault o jare. Na the way they take bring them up. the environment matters a lot. How many of our girls know what Candlelight is all about? they don't even know the value of greeting card. give them apart from recharge card and she go ask you if na card she go eat. Poverty has made them sell their heart and soul to the devil instead of to us men that is why every thing they think about is money,Ego, kudi. Christ have Mercy. Let us please, forgive our girls for they know what they do. |

see this is unfair most of u fail to recognize dat every1 is not the same wen it comes 2 issues like this @1stposter nigerian girls have u dated all of them? maybe u're just unlucky and should step up ur game, hv u even thought that u might be d cause? not everygirl wants your money!!! u're going out with white girls because they cn take ur rubbish!!! u know a nigerian girl dat knws her worth wnt sit n be played, u guys act diff wen u date a white girl and definitely not the same way u'll treat a nigerian girl, and what exactly do u mean by being romantic? 4 her 2 b at ur beck n call? or 2 call u hundred times a day? u gotta be more specific! my point is y'all hv 2 stop making generalizing comments @ alexis u get a point 4 being nice d poster cn say the nigerian girls he has dated were not romantic and not all nigerian girls please cuz i'm fine AND romantic! plus many more , |

Re: Nigerian Girls Are Not Romantic: Why? by izinbizi(m): 11:59am On Dec 04, 2006 |
Unlike what we use to know about our nigerian chics, things are really getting off the hook. I see the kind of complaints we get from yankee about black american chicks, girls are becoming very ambitious, very determined to touch the skies at any cost, so it puts pressure on both them and their guys and sucks out the romance in everyone. I'm now looking either to Ethiopia or Kenya for chicks with some feel. |
