VIO and Road Safety are the most useless paramilitary in this country. Is short, they are both constitute nuisance in the society. I support both of them to be scrapped.

This happened just now at Olorunsogo Opposite Cottage Hospital Ilorin Kwara State.
A motorist was driving in front of this set of VIOs and they were driving at top speed in pursuit of another motorist who was trying to avoid arrest.Apparently the motorist in front of this VIO was oblivious of what was going on and he did not swerve for the VIOs like other vehicles did seeing the speed at which they were driving. This VIOs overtook the motorist and blocked his way abrutely almost causing an accident.
They asked the driver to come down and started harrasing him, snapping his car and threatening him.
People gathered to appease them but it they refuse to listen.
Please push this to FP asap,we need people to see the injustice some VIOs are carrying out in the name of carrying out their duty.

No 1, that is the FRSC.
No 2, The driver was supposed to leave the way and not obstruct justice.

The problem is most Nigerian drivers do not know traffic rules.

The main problem with Nigerians is ignorance. They do not know how powerful they are. This is a joke. We are their paymasters for christsake. if not for us,they would be jobless. Just imagining servants harassing their masters

Have been looing for a yellow vehicle with black stripe. After reading the heading, but all i saw. Was a blue hilux representing the FRSC. This shouldn't make FP, learn to differentiate between VIO and roadsafety PLS!!!

This is not VIO. They are Road Safety officers. I am a senior officer in VIO. I am also a station head(head of station/unit) in VIO. You people should stop criticising or condeming VIO. I know you people dislike uniform men because most of you are law breaker. That is why I hardly pity any driver that commit any of the VIO offences. I must issue the offender a teller to the bank in order pay for the charges of the offences being commited. Except the driver deserve mercy or in a case of single minor offer before u can be pardoned
Re: Misuse Of Power By Some Vehicle Insurance Officers. by lummyguy: 8:17pm On Jul 06, 2015
First and foremost OP should know that those men in the picture are Federal Road Safety Corp Officers...

Secondly the full meaning of VIO is not Vehicle Insurance Officer...Nah.. It's Vehicle Inspection Officer...

Finally whoever placed this on FP though

Re: Misuse Of Power By Some Vehicle Insurance Officers. by andyanders: 8:19pm On Jul 06, 2015
What the VIO represent in Nigerian should be known and tagged "DISGRACE/ EMBARRASSMENT"

Very useless set of individuals who only arrest vehicles and extort money from them FOR THEIR OWN SELFISH GAIN.
Re: Misuse Of Power By Some Vehicle Insurance Officers. by David4best(m): 8:19pm On Jul 06, 2015
Except in a case of a single minor offence(not offer. It is a typing mistake) before the offender can be pardoned.

Nigerians will never cease to amaze me. We always form over-sabi when we know next to nothing . In the US when you see an emergency car coming, the law requires you move to the side of the road !!! You are all here ranting over wrong thing !

And OP...really? Vehicle Insurance Officers?? You know how to do selfie, ping and gossip online but you can't distinguish between Vehicle Inspection Officers and Federal Road Safety Corp officers. Ignorance is bliss !
