Lagos State House of Assembly has promised to look into the SURE-P /FERMA employment programme, popularly called Federal Task Force introduced by the immediate past administration. Representing the Speaker of the House, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade of Ikorodu Constituency 1, received the representatives of the embittered 51,000 recruited Federal Task Force officers who were yet to receive their salaries.

The protesters led by Mr. Icon Ikeagwu submitted a copy of their petition and also stated the different ways they were defrauded. He said, “We have been defrauded, dehumanized and neglected; we were made to buy a form tagged;

‘The presidency SURE-P/FERMA federal task force form’ which had ‘Not For Sale boldly written on it for N30,000(Thirty thousand naira).medical tests, identification card capturing, screening of officers, training kits, Federal Task Force uniform for N32,500 (Thirty two thousand five hundred naira), Federal Task Force boot and belt for N5,000 (Five thousand naira ), reflective jackets, building of various departmental offices for N5,000 (Five thousand naira)each, all totaling about N79, 000 (seventy nine thousand naira) per individual.” The group also claimed to have been trained for three years under harsh condition without any form of remuneration. The petition entitled, “Extortion and Collection of Money Under False Pretence” has a list of alleged extortionists on it with such names such as Alhaji Abdulrasaq Rafiu bn (National Coordinator/Commandant), Chief Olabode George (PDP Chieftain) Senator Ogunlewe(PDPChieftain).
