As you are preparing for your study, it’s important that you become familiar with the cost of study and living in the country you choose to study. Cost of study varies from country to country. In Germany for example, most schools are operating tuition free education, and so students are exempted from paying tuition fees. However, one that is studying in Germany will only be concerned with the living cost which is estimated at 670 Euro per month which will cover the cost of food accommodation, books, transportation etc. In today’s post, I will be talking about cost of study and living in three European countries namely; Austria, Finland and Germany. Please find below the cost of living and study in Austria, Finland and Germany.

Cost of living in Austria

The cost of living in Austria is estimated at €800 to €1000. This may vary a bit, depending on your study location – for example, accommodation and other living costs may be higher in Vienna and other larger cities than for example in Wr.Neustadt. And, of course, the amount of money you will need greatly depends on how economically you live. However, it’s hard to tell the exact amount of money a student in Austria needs per month.

Cost of study in Austria

EU students in Austria Public universities are exempted from paying tuition fees. However, you will be required to pay a small fee of approximately €18 per semester to the Student Union. Non EU or international students will have to pay tuition fees of €726.72 per semester plus a fee of €18 per semester to the Student Union. In the event that you decide to take courses at more than one university, you will have to pay your tuition fee only once. If you are not a degree-seeking student, you will have to pay EUR 363.36 per semester.
