Those states (plus kebbi) are almost 99% hausa/fulani. Others states in the north, apart from those 4, are very multicultural.

Well...I live up north, so place close to kano. We have not had any bombing at all. Our former governor was very diplomatic with his handling of security. One thing I know he did is that he never joked with info brought to him. He was always on the neck of the dss and military. One rumor and the whole town is floaded with soldiers. And he never publicized his nabbing any bh Member. That way, no attention is brought on the state. Plus...he was an honorable man and the people loved him enough to cooperate

While not holding brief for govt and as well playing down conspiracy theory as could be deduced from the thread and one post here, I think we need to consider the demographical and geographical factors here. It is an open-secret that Boko Haram's breeding ground is Bornu state, so, by default the state and her neighbour would be feeling the pressure more than other states. I think BH's resources cannot sustain extended attack from Bornu to Sokoto, the distance is too much, that is geographical factor. As for Demographical factor, BH's tactic is to target heavily populated areas to attack, if u're conversant with population distribution in the north, u will agree with me that the states mentioned are not endowed in terms of population hence the 'snub' by BH. Katsina is highly populated but I think the homogeneous nature of the state is her saviour.

Because Boko Haram's main agenda is to destroy Islamic developing cities, that's why Borno was the main target, because Borno and Kano are best developing cities in the North, Adamawa, Bauchi, Yobe, Gombe, all, why will they attack Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina and Jigawa? Anyways, @Op, smart thinkin. I think its because the states dat are frequrntly attacked has a high rate of other cultural presence. Jigawa, katsina, zamfara and sokoto are mostly hausas and indigenes. Their population is also sometin to consider; and lastly, economically speaking, those states have little economic significance as compared to states like Kano, Kaduna amd Jos

Because these states do not have a sizeable christian population from which the lunatic jihadis are allowed as a matter of religious obligation to loot, pillage, rape and plunder.
