At least, I once sat down a class-mate in High School, who was promiscuous and had a heart-to-heart talk with her. She told me stuffs that made me wretch. Told me how her 'uncles' fing'ered her as a child, how a neighbour was giving her head and how the soldiers in her community used to sleep with teenage girls EVERYDAY. And when her parents got to know, they simply moved out of the community to avoid being ostracised/ victimized/ shamed.
And this is just one of a thousand other cases.
This girl publicly confessed to being a Nympho, she used to write notes to students begging for sex, until she was caught.
I was the head-girl so I was selected to talk to her. Her Tales left me sad, and I wonder what kind of society I was born into.

I think Nigerian women and girls should be taught to take care of themselves cos the ills done against them even baffles the devil himself.

Touching and fiddling with a girl child, hymen or no hymen is defilement, it is not about the presence or absence of her hymen.

I get teary eyed when I think about it.

I don't know why our country is yet to see this as a national emergency. I know some NGOs and women orgs are trying their best but this is an all-hands-on-deck kind of problem.
A great percentage of our kids undergo sexual abuse. If you or your friend has not been sexually molested, you'd know someone who has. If you don't know someone who has been molested, your friend knows one. That's a high number.


I believe the problem lies with the police institution. They way they handle some of these cases before it gets to court is pretty disgusting.

I think U R 100% right about the police. Many of them are sexual predators and molesters themselves.
