they are both awesome ,but opencart is easier to comprehend,has a simpler interface

Use opencart, its easier to manage, set up and run. it also has payment methods suitable for the nigeria market.

Magento is for big enterprise, multiple stores from a parent store. its for big company.

yours is on a small scale. opencart suits you.

I do hear of difficulties in updating and installing template.

template in opencart is not difficult to install
