Deep and widespread dissatisfaction across the board remains amongst Nigerians, as they have continued to air their discontent with President Muhammad Buhari’s delay in the appointment of Ministers more than 6 weeks after his inauguration as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This is according to an independent poll conducted by POST NIGERIA.

Respondents from the poll were asked “Should PMB have appointed Ministers by now?” and the results revealed that 59% of Nigerians are dissatisfied with the delay in the appointment of Ministers, while 27% are of the opinion that the delay remains inconsequential.

14% of the respondents however responded indifferently indicating they could not be bothered with Buhari’s sluggishness.

The findings from the poll reveal how the expectations Nigerians have of the Buhari administration are quickly shifting away from the “Change” mantra.
The poll which covered a sample size of about 6,000+ respondents, revealed that a total of 3,631 respondents (59%) attested to the fact that Buhari should have named his Ministers by now. 1,684 respondents (27%) were of the opinion that the delay in naming the Ministers does not matter while 834 respondents (14%) were indifferent by stating that the delay does not really matter.

Buhari since assuming office more than 6 weeks ago, has been widely criticised for barely making any major moves towards delivering on his lofty campaign promises, delaying the appointment of critical aides and Ministers to drive his policy goals and aspirations. Many ministers are just political figure heads. Permanent Secretaries are the ones who do the core job.

Though I prefer he names his ministers asap.
