Hello ezinne1212,

Sorry about what u just experienced, I was in a similar situation in 2009 @ the start of the Sanusi madness but I am grateful to GOD that I am living my dream today.

I will like to advice you to brush what happened aside and face ur future by being fully aware of the realities on ground in naija, try and acquire skills in fashion design, hair dressing, make-up artistry, Food science and baking (cakes etc) etc. If you do this u now look into better ways to present ur service to ur clients n prospects by creating an identity for what u do. Try and check up as many threads as possible on NL on how to start ur small biz (its about the only way to get free biz ideas) BUT flee from any one offering u business investments where they tell u you won't do any work after investing ur moni its always 99.99% fraud. I fell victim to something like that wen I left banking initially n I know bankers are alwaays so confused @ this point.

Take your time, don't rush into any biz rite now, be realistic regarding ur decision (if u don't fool urself no one will be able to fool u). Don't be greedy and learn to start small.

GOD be with u.

shenaz: Try to get a pgd in education. Then you can become a lecturer either in uni, poly or college of education. Lecturing pays.

I've been thinking about doing that after my Bsc. Please can you enlighten me on how it pays?

With a pgdE u can lecture on your bsc major. And lecturers are now paid serious money, they also have time to do other kinds of business. Then you have access to loans and can take sabbatical of upto 3 years with full pay. If u want to further like phd, d school will pay for you if you go through the right process.

Lecturing in the university doesn‘t require a degree in education or a PGDE, except you wish to lecture in the Faculty of Education. A good grade in ur first degree makes u eligible to lecture the course you studied. A masters degree and a PhD further increase you chances!

That is easy if its your alma mater but if not a pgde will get you a foot in the door

That's so wrong, man! You only need Education degree to lecture in Faculty of Education or a secondary/primary school, and perhaps, COE, and not universities and polytechnics. To be a Mathematics lecturer, for instance, all you need is your degree/degrees in Mathematics. PGDE or higher degrees in Education is completely out of it! Get your facts right!
