Gunman Kills 15 In German School Rampage by revenge(m): 3:58pm On Mar 11, 2009
TUTTGART, Germany - A 17-year-old gunman dressed in black opened fire at his former high school in southwestern Germany on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people before police shot him dead, officials said.

Nine students and three teachers were among the dead, State Interior Minister Heribert Rech said.

It was Germany's worst shooting since another teenage gunman killed 16 people and himself in another high school in 2002.

Most of the slain students were found dead in the school and the gunman killed an adult outside the building as he escaped, regional police spokesman Klaus Hinderer said.

"He went into the school with a weapon and carried out a bloodbath," said regional police chief Erwin Hetger. "I've never seen anything like this in my life."

After the attack, the suspect fled the Albertville high school toward the center of Winnenden, a town of 28,000, Hinderer said, before police tracked him down.

The teenager graduated from the school last year, police said.

So cultism attacks - ritual killings has never occurred within our educational institutions before in Nigeria? Is that not a form of how Nigerian kids destroy their own lives?

metal detectors is not the answer cos the dude would have waited outside the gates to commit these murders. German chancellor needs to tighten gun laws even more.

Were the shootings committed outside the gates??

Tighten what gun laws?? U mean as much as they tighten them on hard paraphernalia, and other controlled substances?? undecided

No, but if there was metal detectors he probably would have waited outside the gates.
Metal detectors would be irrelevant  if the man had waited outside school gate at close of school. Metal detectors stop you from getting shot at school premises not outside.

If the law had made possession of weapons illegal those people would still be alive now. This kid used his father's bereta (his dad has 18 guns). Why was his father allowed to take the guns home from his gun club?

As for "other paraphernalia and other controlled substances" start a new thread on the topic and am sure I'll contribute.

*SIGHS*

It'll really help if u stop being hypothetical, the incident has occurred and its unfortuate as innocent people were killed,

but the truth still remains that it happened on the school premises,

and the school authorities are a hundred percent responsible for what goes on within their domain,

Now that being said, law suits will possibly follow, as i see it as an act of negligence, but that the least if the worries at this time!!

Pls don't give me that load of drivel about gun laws, they are so tight u would even believe it,. . . . .

but the problem obviously is that they aren't enforced not in the least bit!!

Otherwise why did all these occur even wid the tight "noose" so called gun laws we have??

Santana High School shooting Santee, California, United States March 5 2001 (2 people were killed, actually had friends in this school . . . . .

they had to be withdrawn ASAP by their parents)

Columbine High School massacre Jefferson County, Colorado, United States April 20 1999 (15 people were killed)

Amish school shooting Nickel Mines, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States October 2 2006 (6 people were killed)

Virginia Tech massacre Blacksburg, Virginia, United States April 16 2007 (33 were killed)

Northern Illinois University shooting DeKalb, Illinois, United States February 14 2008 (6 people were killed)

And a host of others all around the world!!, aren't there strict gun ownership rules in these states??

RIP to all the victims BTW.

Are u trying to be sarcastic here?? undecided

The above was mentioned cause they are also illegal and there are strict laws guarding individuals abusing them!!
