Give it a shot, you never know, since she is grown up, one thing i'll tell you is, dont get TOO bossy with her. Teens dont like that, but be very friendly with her and complement her on her shoes, her hair, etc. Infact, just call her up randomly and take her shopping, just something to make both of y'all acquinted to each other. Before you know it, she'll call you her "cool" mom.
