Child abuse is the physical, sexual or emotional maltreatment or neglect of a child or children. There are four major categories of child abuse: neglect, physical abuse, psychological or emotional abuse, and sexual abuse. Every time you take a breath, a child is being abused. Sometimes the abuser is the parent, sibling or family friend. The future of our nation and the world depends on these abused children. Abused children end up abusing other children. So as parents alert, inform and educate your children to be aware of perpetrator of child abuse.
I can vividly remember a three years old girl who was abused in my area. It was the lovely daughter of the security man opposite my house who was molested by a teenager in the area at about 11:30pm. The little girl sat on the lap of this man and he fiddles with her private part while the father of the girl sat across the road. As the girl was about to pee she started crying as a result of the pain. That was when her parents realized that she has been abused.
Child Neglect is the failure of a parent or other person with responsibility for the child to provide needed food, clothing, shelter, medical care, or supervision to the degree that the child’s heath, safety, and well-being are threatened with harm. Neglect is also a lack of the people surrounding a child, and the non-provision of the relevant and adequate necessities for the child survival. Some of the observable signs in a neglected child include: the child is frequently absent from school, begs or steals food or money, lacks needed medical and dental care, is consistently dirty, or lacks sufficient clothing for the weather.

Parents, guidance, teacher, and adults watch out for every child around you and help them have a greater future.
