Right to Dream exists to enable talented children from all over West Africa with the opportunity to develop their talent and fulfil their potential. How… Right to Dream is a social enterprise. We believe the key to unlocking academic and sporting success is achieved through character. Our international school and elite football development programme are founded on this premise. Looking ahead…... Spotlight on our Finalist : Right to Dream Academy
23rd Jul 2015 Team Honours MUPC Africa Champions 2015 Marveld Tournament Champions 2015 Previous MUPC World Finals: 2014/4 th ; 2013/9 th ; 2011/6 th ; 2010/7 th ; 2009/3 rd ; 2008/5th The Right to Dream Academy was founded in 1999 by a former Manchester United scout determined to use sport as an agent for change, to build a better, brighter future for Ghana. Since that time, the Academy has grown and evolved and now also supports the development of girls football and paralympic athletes. This is the seventh time that Right to Dream have reached the World Finals - reaching the Final this year already improves on their prevous best of 3rd place back in 2009. Coach Frazer Robertson 's team arrived in Manchester on the back of international success, finishing ahead of Arsenal, Ajax, Barcelona, Paranaense and Manchester United in this year's Marveld Tournament. ROAD TO THE FINALS ESBJERG FB - RIGHT TO DREAM 1 - 2 RIGHT TO DREAM - KYOTO SANGA FC 2 - 1 GENOA CFC - RIGHT TO DREAM 0 - 0 RIGHT TO DREAM - ATLETICO PR 1 - 1 QF1 READING FC - RIGHT TO DREAM 0 - 2 SF1 RIGHT TO DREAM - CHIVAS 2 - 1 Drawn in a very tough Group B, Right to Dream impressed immediately, picking up all six points on Day One, with convincing wins over Danish team Esbjerg and Kyoto Sanga. Day Two saw Right to Dream held to a goalless draw by Genoa - the only team to stop them from scoring in the tournament - before sharing the points with Paranaense, leaving them in second place in Group B. Quarter finals beckoned and RTD gave Reading a Masterclass in fast paced football, treating spectators to one of the best matches in the tournament . Their semi final against Chivas was also played at an exceedingly high level. Right to Dream took control early in the first half, their fast paced, one touch football stretching the Chivas defense twice in quick successsion. Chivas claimed one goal back five minutes before the end of the first half, invigorating the match and spectators were thrilled by one of the best displays of football in the tournament so far. Although Chivas pressed hard, they could not find another break in the solid Ghanaian defence. Coach Frazer Robertson is hopeful that his team can finally lift the elusive MUPC trophy. "These players have been together for 4 years now, and play really well together. We have some great players in the team - one of whom is already training with the U-18 squad and, as always, we have a unique character and quick passing style. "I think it helps that we split age groups when we play in a tournament like this. That way, half the team will already have some experience and add stability for the younger boys. "Our tactics were to get through the group stages and then just take one step at a time. So far so good. Let's see how we can perform against Genoa. They held us to a 0:0 draw in our group match. Defensively they are first class and it will take all our skills and determination to succeed. We know we will have to score goals if we are to have any chance of lifting the trophy." source: ManchesterUnitedPremiercup.com |

RIGHT TO DREAM WIN MU PREMIER CUP. Right to Dream have won the Manchester United Premier Cup for the first time in their history, beating Genoa 4-3 on penalties in the final at the AJ Bell Stadium. The Ghanaian side lived up to their reputation as a team to watch after emerging victorious in the Marveld tournament earlier this year. Frazer Robertson's youngsters edged out their Italian rivals to lift the Nike-sponsored trophy at the seventh time of asking. There was heartbreak for Genoa who did not concede a goal throughout the four-day event and pipped Right to Dream to the top of group B.

Right to Dream from Ghana, Dale Farm Milk Cup
2015 Junior Section Champions! |
Re: Right To Dream (rtd)-One Of The Best Youth Football Academy In The world. by AzontoGhost(m): 11:33am On Aug 01, 2015 |
Right to Dream won the Dale Farm
Milk Cup on their debut trip to the
tournament following an emphatic 7-0
victory over Southampton at a cold
and blustery Ballymena Showgrounds.
The Ghanaian outfit nearly took the
lead inside 2 minutes as Isaac Atanga
picked out the run of Ernest Boahene,
but Alex Rutter made a smart save to
deny the midfielder. However, Right to
Dream broke the deadlock a minute
later as Emmanuel Bam crossed for
Atanga and he stroked the ball home
via the post despite the best efforts of
Joe Tomlinson on the goal line.
The African side were rampant with
Emmanuel Doku being denied by
Rutter, before the ‘keeper was again
called into action moments later to
prevent Atanga doubling his side’s
advantage. It ought to have been 2-0
to the Ghana outfit as a cracking
cross from Atanga released Ibrahim
Sadiq, but the wide man could only
hit his effort wide from close range.
On 17 minutes, it was 2-0 as a poor
backpass from Southampton’s
Kameron Ledwidge sold his ‘keeper
short and Sadiq pounced to finish with
aplomb and double his side’s
lead. Southampton began to shoot
themselves in the foot as two further
sloppy passes to the back
were underhit. Both chances landed to
Atanga and he could only manage to
crash the post with the
first opportunity, before he flashed the
second shot wide.
The Saints finally created a chance of
their own on 27 minutes as a well hit
free-kick from Jake Vokins was
parried by Stephen Sarkodie. However,
the ‘keeper made amends as he
smothered Liam Doyle’s follow-
up. Right to Dream delivered a killer
blow to Southampton’s fading hopes
on the stroke of half-time as Boahene
scored a cracking 25-yard free-kick
that left Rutter with no chance.
It was to become even worse for the
Premiership side as Right to Dream
made it 4-0 shortly into the second-
half. Following a cross being cleared
from the Saints penalty area, the ball
landed to the feet of Emmanuel Doku
and he hit an excellent deft finish into
the top corner.
Southampton had a chance to reduce
the arrears ten minutes from time as
a neat pass from Dan Bartlett found
Christian Norton upfront. The big
striker controlled the ball well and
knocked it off to Vokins but he blazed
over the bar. At the other end, a
fantastic cross by Modibo Diarrasouba
found Atanga but he failed to keep his
effort on target.
However, Atanga was to secure his
brace late on after brilliant movement
from Boahene released the striker and
he finished sweet into the bottom
corner leaving Rutter with no chance.
It became 6-0 moments later as
another excellent free-kick found the
top corner. This time it was
Mohammed Diomande who took the
honours, curling a sweet strike into
the back of the net. The evening was
to belong to Atanga as the striker
completed a deserved hat-trick with a
matter of minutes remaining. The
pacey attacker pounced on hesitancy
in the Southampton defence
and evaded a couple of challenges
before slotting home. |
