Early this morning, some gun men invaded the quiet town of Tombia and made away with the King of Ekpetiama Kingdom (Tombia), Chief Otobotekere. The kidnappers reportedly burnt the car they used for transport around the seaside while they jumped into a waiting boat in the sea.

This caused alot of chaos as the youths of the community blocked the only bridge/road to the Wilberforce Island which left staff and students of Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island and indeed other commuters/road-users. The presence of the military and police did not solve the problem. Infact, the police team that later arrived after so many distress calls, were looking helplessly.
