Ofada Rice and stew is a Nigerian meal native to the Yorubas but in recent times, everyone, especially those in Lagos and environs, has been bitten by the Ofada Rice bug.

How to cook Ofada Stew
Please note that Ofada Stew is the hottest of them all when it comes to Nigerian hot and spicy food. It tastes like Vindaloo (Indian Curry) and is mostly for those who have natural coolers in their mouth to douse the fire that this stew brings to the palate.

Ofada Rice is not very interesting. It is not as posh as the long grain parboiled rice. The “best” part? It has this strong pungent smell when it is being cooked yet everyone wants to eat it! I guess it is because Nigerians have a penchant for all things traditional and homegrown. Or maybe it’s the stew because I must say the Ofada Stew adds a delicious twist to Ofada Rice.

Ingredients for Ofada Stew
40 pcs unripe habanero peppers (atarodo, ose oyibo, atarugu)
2 green tatashe peppers or green bell peppers
1 locust bean seasoning (Iru, ogiri okpei or dawadawa)
20cl red palm oil (at least)
1 big onion
1 handful crayfish
850g assorted meat and fish. I used:
Beef
Shaki (cow tripe)
Dry fish
Stockfish
Before you cook Ofada Stew
Wash and blend the peppers and the onion. Remember to remove the seeds from the green tatashe or the green bell peppers.
Grind the crayfish and the locust bean seasoning with a dry mill.

MeTro sets in just 60 seconds once treated with UV light, and the technology has a built-in degrading enzyme which can be modified to determine how long the sealant lasts – from hours to months, in order to allow adequate time for the wound to heal.

The liquid or gel-like material has quickly and successfully sealed incisions in the arteries and lungs of rodents and the lungs of pigs, without the need for sutures and staples.

Barely two weeks since Big Brother magnanimously forgave house infringements and lifted the strikes, Tacha has gotten herself disqualified while Mercy has gotten two Strikes as a result of the fight they both had earlier today.

Their Offence

Tacha was accused of losing her temper which led to her pushing, shoving and also pulling of Mercy's hair which is considered violence. Big Brother found her guilty of breaking the House rule of physical violence and intent to harm the moment she shoved Mercy, and the moment she pulled her hair on two separate occasions. Biggie deemed that such physical violence had no place in Big Brother’s House.

In the case of Mercy, Biggie found her guilty of breaking the House rule of provocation, not stepping away from a volatile situation and of non-physical violence. The moment she flicked her hair on Tacha, she only made the situation even worse and was issued two strikes. This means, one more strike and she will be disqualified from the Big Brother House.

What The Rule Book Says

The rule book clearly states in Article 18 sub-section one that, other types of violence including provocation, goading, bullying and victimisation may be punished by Big Brother in any way Big Brother chooses.

With this new development, the Housemates are now down to eight following Cindy's earlier Eviction.
