B4 you insult someone, are you aware that GEJ spent about the same amoount on power in his 5 years?... How many megawatts did his administration add to Nigeria?.... How many power plants did he start and finish?

Sir, you should have answered the question first. How many megawatts did OBJ add to the national grid, when he was in power? Was it 200MW, 1,600MW or 900MW? Every correct answer gets 20 marks!! cool

The truth is that OBJ spent the same amount on power as GEJ, and left the power supply situation in a worse state than GEJ did! So therefore. OBJ has no moral standing to criticise GEJ! shocked shocked

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday slammed ex-President Goodluck Jonathan for lacking vision  in the rehabilitation of the railways.

He based his criticism on the fact that the railway lines were obsolete as they were constructed in 1903 and could not match the modern global trends.

The Jonathan administration embarked on the rehabilitation of the railway system with a view of overhauling the sector which had decayed for years and abandoned by previous governments.

“For what reason should anybody in his right senses in Nigeria of today believe that rehabilitating the railway system which was completed in 1903 to carry three million tonnes of goods is what we need today,” he said.

The former president who spoke during a television programme monitored yesterday said there was no earthly reason why the rehabilitated railway system of Nigeria today could serve Nigerians

Obasanjo, who  noted that the system was divided into two, Eastern and Western, lamented that the latter caused a whooping $8.3 billion Dollars

According to him, ‘if Nigeria would achieve the vision 20-20-20, we would need a first class land, water and air transportation, and good land transportation can only be railway and roads.

I left Lagos (Ido Terminus), 12:00pm Friday and arrived Kaduna (Zaria terminus) 6:40am Sunday. It was a fact-finding trip and I can tell you the system is obsolete and far cry from what we see in the media about transformed NRC. Infact, some elderly passengers lamented the decay that the services of the 1980's were far better than now as the TVs, water closet and showers were functional then.

The greed for kick-backs meant going for second-hand, including weapons for the military. The rot was endemic.

if GEJ lacked vision, yet he could rebuild our railways without the billions Obasanjo spent with absolutely nothing to show.
Then we can comfortably conclude that Obasanjo lacked sight! In plain terms OBJ was completely blind.

Please post the pictures you took on the trip and kindly share a summary of the things you noticed during the trip with us. The management of NRC was part of those that sabotaged GEJ's efforts at revamping the train services in this country.

Their level of customer care or customer service is atrocious.
