The new Chief of Staff, Maj. – Gen. Tukur Buratai, has also begun the process of reviewing cases of soldiers dismissed from service as a result of alleged acts of cowardice, insubordination, mutiny and related allegations.

A committee has been set up to review all the cases involving some soldiers who had either been convicted or still facing trial in the three General Military Courts Martial in Kaduna, Lagos and Abuja.

The committee which would begin sitting on August 7, would sit for 25 days for a holistic re-visitation of the cases involved in the operation.

The Army’s Acting Director, Public Relations, Col. Sani Umar, said the Army was reviewing “all recent disciplinary cases due to wave of litigations by some aggrieved personnel.”

Umar said the directive didn’t mean a total recall of dismissed and deserter soldiers.

Good move, heard this in the news this morning. I never believed in the process that led to all those court-martial and convictions in the first place.

This is a welcome boost to the morale of our troops. Ever since General Buratai was appointed, all we've heard is good news from the Army. No more territories lost, no more soldiers running from battles, but constant news of commanders captured, territories recaptured and hostages rescued.

This was the same man the wailers condemned PMB for appointing, now their hearts are broken with every success PMB's military records. Such is the fate of those that celebrate with the wicked.
