bros, but since the topic refers to their CURRENT status, then am still on point then. Look at it this way:
A. Champions league: the English pace setters are no match for the Spanish pace setters and am even tempted to include athletic Madrid.

B. In the Europa league which is a better indicator cos it features the teams whose compositions are more natural(I.e artificial influence of money is less), the sevillas, athletic bilbaos, Valencia always do better than your spurs, Aston villas, Everyone etc. Intact the last English team to win it was Liverpool in 2005 and since then it has been the Spanish teams sharing it btw themselves. I think after Liverpool, Steve McLaren guided Middleborough to a final but got flogged by slaves (Spanish team) 4-1.

C: only once has the world footballer of the year come from England and after winning the award, Ronaldo,fled to la liga, which has provided 10 winners of the same award.
premiership is exciting no doubt but overrated. Once a player in premiership hits world class status, then he is off. Its almost as if its a training ground for players that wanna go to la liga.

Alexis and ozil were rejects who fled cos they were not good enough to be starters and now they are shining(Alexis mostly). Now Pedro too wants to flee cos he can't command a starting place, then he will come to Man U and start sweet talking the media about how England has the best league and so on and so forth. Apparently he only finds out when Neymar came to bench him.
Also the england pays well, that's why some players come, not cos the league is that good.

it's funny to say la liga is a two man race, if u checked d records from 2004-2011 only manu nd Chelsea won d epl title....Roy Keane also said it wats d essence of been a competitive league if u can't shine a European competitions. and abt Madrid and barca check out dis two clubs and their materials compare it with Chelsea or city or united...c'mon why won't they dominate everywhere (leag,ucl) imagine city signing sterling wtf, Chelsea signing cuadrado(a player barca hop to sign to play wingback)

One thing av learnt since following futbol is never to argue with epl fans......they are so stubborn even with a glaring statistics and real evidence....comparing epl and la liga is like comparing nigerian league with d so call arab league i.e egypt, morroco and co. Every season in nigeria we av a new champion but let them go outside.....they get beaten like kids. I dont know how to make d comparison than to put d first ten teams in both leagues and compare them strength to strength..... Anoda question is how many team in any leagues in d world can withstand d firepower of both barca and real madrid. U think it was a mere fluke d success stories of sevilla, at madrid, barca, real madrid and co in Europe in d last decade......

The two la liga clubs u just mention won the champions league in 2002, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015 (convincingly) while in the same generation, EPL clubs (Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea) won it in 2005, 2008 and 2012 respectively (via penalties)....

Do we have to go to the second strings competition (Europa league).....where your Everton, Tottemham, Southhapton and the likes are competing with likes of Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao and Villareal....Or should we compare the quality of players where your best players (Ronaldo, Beckham, Henry, Suarez, Bale and co) dream of playing in La Liga whereas we kick our rejected stones (Sanchez, Michu, Navas and co) to your leagues......
