I've once reared snail but never grass cutter. I feel grass cutter has more income but low on patronage whereas snail is cheaper but yields high turnover. Now, I strongly feel that more income with low turnover isn't business. Real business has to do with turnover volume
Why did you stop rearing snail

Ladies and Gentlemen it's a recent finding that snails carry parasites and can cause meningitis. The US and Australia are destroying them and have asked folks not to consume them. I will suggest that any potential investors look into this new development. It's a notorious fact but one we must live with at least for now. Nigeria like most African countries may not do further studies before doing "copy cat" and ban anything America bans.

Au Revoir folks am out after doing the needful.
It must be a particular specie

Grasscutter domestication and business

Though the business of domesticating grasscutters (Thryonomys swinderianus) is known in the here in Nigeria, the sub-region and in other parts of the world, We've not been able to significantly optimise the benefits of grasscutter production for the economy.

Unlike chicken and other meat products that encounter keen competition from imports, the grasscutter virtually has no competition. But the production of grasscutter somehow remains in the category of subsistence farming, placing demand far above supply.

Many of those who patronise the grasscutter meat buy them from hunters who use hunting dogs or people specialised in trapping the grasscutter in the wild.

Grasscutters has it.

I chose grasscutters because I like grasscutter more than my goats.

At times goats give more trouble. If they get out they can destroy other people's things.

Grasscutters have bigger litters, and you get more than one [offspring] unlike with the goats.

"They also bring good prices."

Both grasscutter farming and snail farming are equally lucrative. They go hand-in-hand. I know of a company, JustinVille, that breeds both African giant snails and grasscutters. They will tell you that none is better than the other. If you need more information, just contact them to clarify:
