The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state
has warned President Muhammadu Buhari
against ministerial appointing of the
immediate past governor of the state, Rotimi
Amaechi, stating that his appointment would
make mockery of the president stance on
corruption.
Amaechi was quoted to have said at a
function in Abuja over the weekend that Buhari
was begging him to accept appointment as
minister.
Vanguard reports that the PDP had insisted
that the former governor is corrupt, adding
that any move to appoint him as minister or
secretary to the government of the federation
would be likened to glorifying corruption. The
party pointed out that such development
would also expose the president as just
focusing on PDP as well as aides of former
president Goodluck Jonathan in his anti-
corruption drive.
