Today marks 70 years since the bombing of Hiroshima during World War II, making it undoubtedly the single most severe single act of war in human history.
Today, nine countries possess enough nuclear warheads to make it look Earth never even existed.
These nine countries are theUnited States, TheUnited Kingdom,Russia,France,China,India,North Korea,Pakistan,Israel.
A man named Alex Wellerstein created a Nukemap to help us understand the effects of a Nuclear bomb going off in any city in the world.
So we took the map's pin to Lagos, and dropped the pin at Yaba.
For our choice of weapon, we chose Russia's 50-megatonTsar bomb, the largest bomb ever tested. Note that the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was just a 15-kiloton warhead which led to the deaths of up to 160,000 people in Hiroshima alone.
A not-so-fun-fact is this; the Hiroshima bomb, called the "Little Boy", is abour 3,333 smaller than the Tsar bomb.
This is what happened when the Tsar Bomb detonated from the sky over Yaba.

The bomb's radius spread all through Lagos, leaving only a tiny bit at Badagry and a few other places. It spread as far as Ogun State, reaching Abeokuta, with the strength in those distances being able to cause third degree burns, destroying nerves and burning the entire skin.
And for the casualty figures; staggering.
The deaths were put at around 7,323,890. That's about the population of Togo.
The estimated injuries were put at 2,655,480.
That is devastating.
People, peace. Peace is not overrated.

All I can say is wow!

No nation would be stupid enough to drop an atomic bomb on another nation in this day and age . Even the US warned Japan several times before dropping the bomb. I think it is good that about 7 nations have the capability to build an atomic bomb. So, no nation can do excessive gragra. They can serve as deterrent to one another.

On the flip side though, all these smaller nations may start to strive to build theirs. God forbid that it is mishandled and a nation mistakenly wipes out half of its own population.
