WALKCAR, A PORTABLE CAR THAT’S SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT INTO YOUR BAG.
It was designed by Tokyo-based engineering team, Cocoa Motors, the WalkCar looks at first glance like an upturned iPad with wheels. It is, as the name indicates, a portable transporter, ideal for strolling around town with very little effort.

It’s quite light, about 6.6 pounds, made from aluminium, and powered by a Lithium-ion battery. After a three-hour charge, it can reach speeds of up to 6.2mph (10km/h).
WalkCar is just so easy to use. Stand on it to go, get off to stop. To steer it, simply shift your weight around like you would on a skateboard.

Cocoa Motors team member, Kuniako Saito says WalkCar creation is an improvement on alternatives like the Segway and Toyota’s Winglet because it’s small enough to prop into a bag when your journey is done. So, WalkCar could be an ideal way of covering those short distances at speed if your legs aren’t up to the job.

The company has promised to make WalkCar available for purchase worldwide later this year. And it’s going to cost around $800.
