Its no news or surprise the extent to which the opposition and critics of the Buhari government are willing to go in spreading falsehood and preying on gullible minds for the sole aim of putting pressure on Buhari's government to back down on its anti-corruption stance.

On the alleged report, firstly, visiting the ireport CNN website, you will see a disclaimer clearly written on this questionable report by CNN (http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-1259469) which reads:

If you think this iReport violates our community guidelines, please tell us by clicking on the "This is Inappropriate" button below. This clearly shows that this news was neither reported nor investigated by CNN. It was clearly the work of a person who has no way of getting any credible news media to investigate or clarify the questionable report, and the best the individual could do was run to the CNN ireport community to propagate falsehood. For the avoidance of doubt, anyone can report anything on CNN ireport website, just like anyone can report anything on nairaland website.

It will also interest you to know that this questionable report possibly has its roots from a vanguard news report on August 29, 2012 titled: Buhari Dares IBB, at a time when Buhari was a presidential aspirant under the platform of CPC. At that point, Buhari had dared IBB to expose any corruption facts he (IBB) had on him (Buhari) while also accusing IBB and other leaders of being the ones who destroyed this country. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/08/corruption-buhari-dares-ibb/

There are also insinuations that Kashim Afegbua who was implicated in this questionable news report no longer works for IBB


Conclusion
The alleged news report is misleading and should be dismissed as the work of propagandists and has nothing at all to do with CNN as it was not edited, fact-checked or screened before it was published on the ireport community website.

Well, the Internet has serves as a free information and uploading tool. Anyone can post anything about anybody and it will go viral in minutes. the downside is that propagandists can use it as a tool for peddling false a.d misleading news.

In this age of shabby journalism and consumer-friendly controversial news it is important to separate work done by reputable journalists who have done their investigation and separate from an op-ed or article written by someone who hasn't fact-checked thoroughly.

Although, free access to information has also brought to light some hidden agenda by powerful people who can sway the news in their favour. E.g The US government and Edward Snowden.

He felt the whole report is rubbishing the integrity of Buhari -Mr integrity
One thing is sure, truth cannot be hidden.
If Buhari will go far with his corruption probe, it must not be selective.
There must be no sacred cow.
A situation whereby only GEJ is singled our for probe will spell a doom for this administration.

The point being disputed in the silly report is where it says PMB dropped the investigation of halliburton scandal and restricted all probes to the last regime out of fear after IBB and OBJ threatened to expose his involvement in the disappearance of $2.8billion and his shady deals as PTF head.


Meanwhile, the ireport was authored by one GEORGE ELIJAH OTUMU, probably a Jonathanian writer. This has nothing to do with CNN.
