Former Ijaw Youth Council leader and ex-militant Alhaji Mujahideen Asari Dokubo, has lamented again, the spate of predetermined manipulations which he said were at play during the recent presidential election.

Describing it as “the most rigged election Nigeria has ever experienced, as it was not free and fair”, Mr. Dokubo reiterated his claims that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, chairman Prof. Attahiru Jega and then opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, plotted to kick out former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Asari Dokubo shared his views with newsmen on Sunday, in Owerri, the Imo State capital, where he joined in the celebrations of the Biafra day.

“The figures were self evident”, he said “The figures clearly showed the manipulations. The elections were not free and fair. Also, the stage was set to manipulate the elections”.

The very vocal Asari, maintained that Boko Haram only came into being, after Northern leaders mostly muslims like himself, declared that they would make the country unstable, ungovernable and crisis laden for Mr. Jonathan, who was duly elected by the people of Nigeria.

He explained that in the four years that Dr. Jonathan was President, the northern elders kept their promise, and made it unbearable for him.

Reflecting on the events that led up to the elections, Dokubo said “the National Assembly rejected e-voting and when the card readers came, some of us shouted at the roof tops, saying that the gadgets were unknown to the Constitution and Electoral Laws of Nigeria.

“Our brother Goodluck Jonathan refused to listen to us. To him, the life of any Nigerian was not worth his election or ambition. For us, that was an abdication of his duties as President because we were also involved in the elections and we wanted a free and fair elections”, Dokubo argued.

Alhaji Asari Dokubo recalled how Jonathan was humiliated by INEC, when after four card readers were tested, none could accredit the President.

He said that was the chance Jonathan had to stamp his feet down in protest, but even then, the former President refused to ruffle feathers, instead choosing to maintain a peaceful demeanour.

“That was the time Dr. Jonathan ought to have taken action and stopped the fraud that INEC called an election. He did not do it. It was in the middle of a crucial match that the referee, Professor Attahiru Jega , who is from the same place with Muhammadu Buhari, issued a statement that if card readers cannot confirm your finger prints, then you can go on and vote”, Dokubo lamented.

Anybody that think Asari Tokunbo will abandon his billion naira investment and go back to the creek all in the name of fighting for Biafra is sleeping on a bicycle. even their warrior Kanu is somewhere in London cooling off and chilling while he is instigating his gullible citizens against each other, that was how their Hero Ojukwu lead them to a war they were never prepared for only for him to disguise as woman and ran to Abijan for safety leaving his followers at the mercy of the Gallant Nigeria soldiers. I thought they will learn from that singular act.
We are not Biafrans and if we NIGER-DELTANS need anything we know how to go about it.

What I hate most in this life is people trying to distort facts just to suit their caprices

For the records, Boko Haram was never created to bring the government of GEJ into disrepute, rather, their activities started even before Yar'ardua....so why should anybody make such bogus claims as if Boko Haram started killing people in 2011

since you said you are a nigerian ,let me ask you some questions. Who created the zoo called nigeria? How old are your grandparents? if they are older than nigeria then where are they from? What is the meaning of nigeria? What is the meaning of niger delta? Yoruba people gave you the name "south south" which can't even be found in the cardinal point just to decieve you people and seperate we the biafrans.by the way the man who gave the name biafra is from southern biafra. Try to reason..
