The man who promised to die alongside Oba Okunade Sijuwade has disappeared into thin air.In Ile Ife, an Abobaku is a person selected by the palace chiefs to die with the king. Such person is treatedwith dignity and showered with care in his lifetime but he must be buried alongside the king.Pictured above is the 75-year-old Abobaku who was supposed to be buried alongside Oba Sijuwade today but since he learnt of the death of the Royal Father, he has disappeared into thin air.He even refused to wait for the official confirmation before he took to his heels.It is still unclear if the burial will holdtoday without the Abobaku.
