The late Chief Hubert Adedeji Ogunde of blessed memory was a foremost cultural icon and the pioneer of what has come to be known as the Nigerian film industry.
This respected Nigerian left a legacy that transcends the country's landscape to other parts of the world where the Yorubas in diaspora can be found.
A legend whose works continue to be a reference point to the ingenuity of the African traditional art.
In honour of this Icon, a museum dedicated to his works and artifacts has been commissioned. This museum has a rich collection of indigenous art works,
the Burial site of Late Chief Dr Hubert Adedeji Ogunde. The room he slept in for the last 10 years of his life. All his personal effects, film equipments and costumes. All his recorded music, the family genealogy and his autobiography. Scene from Aiye and Jaiyesimi film (Iyara Agbara). His prayer room and other valuables.
The museum is open to members of the public at a token.
To this end, you are invited to take a guided tour of the museum. We have created a secured environment to guarantee safety.
With our amiable tour guides, you would be able to learn about African culture especially the Yoruba culture which is well showcased in the museum.
Aside from the unforgettable cultural education that would be acquired, so much entertainment would also be derived from this tour.
Thank you very much as we look forward to seeing you.

Location: Ogunde's Quarters Ososa Ogun State, Nigeria.
Opening times: 10am to 4pm from  Tuesday to Friday. 9am to 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and on Public Holidays.

This man started theatre and shooting movies in celluloid way before anyone. It's so funny how some people think they created and own the movie industry by naming it nollywood.

Aljazeera did a documentary on nollywood 2weeks ago in which they acknowledged the man. When they showed a movie by the man, I was awed by the camera quality which was exactly what the british and hollywood used then and also the acting. I now wonder how we nigerians lost it along the line. Before he started creating pictures, he had a movie train of theatre that moved to as far as ghana performing on stage.

Am glad new directors like kunle afolayan, tunde kilani, mildred okwo, blessing effion egbe etc are springing up and showing these mediocres how to make a proper movie with international appeal, instead of the nonsense bold 5 babes, rihanna vs beyonce movies and their poor picture qualities we see.
