Some have asked, where is the Sai Ijege Movement?
Well, the Sai Ijege Movement is very much around. We are not unaware that the sixty days ultimatum we gave this administration to ‪#‎Bringbackourgirls‬ has lapsed. Also, we have our reservations with some policies of government. We are also aware that the president is yet to make his asset declaration public. We wonder if he, too, does not give a damn.
We are not blinded to all these things. We are patiently counting the days and waiting for one hundred days to elapse. After the expiration of the first hundred days, we won't accept any excuse for none or slow performance.
While we wait, we must remind the president that the simplest campaign promise to keep out the several promises he made during the election, is the public declaration of asset. Anything short of this will dent his image as 'Mr. Integrity'.
For the missing chibok girls, we cannot disguise our disappointment with the fact that the president has not made any move towards ensuring their they are returned to their families, after about five hundred days of their abduction. As a Movement, we consider them too important to be abandoned, and our members will resume the counting of the number of days they have spent in captivity in earnest. We will soon issue a statement on the situation of things.
Finally, we call on Nigeria to always put the interest of the country first. Nigeria is bigger than any individual, sectional or religious interest.
Signed
The Sai Ijege Movement
