the grubby are usually found in fallen palm trees (ogoro tree grin

Wherever cocoa is, they're there.
The crawl like caterpillars.

They crawl into the ground too, if I'm not mistaken.
So so grosss.

Atleast shingys are crunchy when fried, this ones looks like they might be a lil slimy full of whitish pus.

ewww well as kids, i have a phobia (still)
so my lil cousins and their friends do something i remember. they cut it a bit and press out the whitish thing. they take their mom's pot and fry it (ofc their mom always shout at them

). when they are done, i joined them to wack it. the taste ok grin

also from what i saw, not from the ground but fallen palm trees. they have to dig them out of the fallen tree. it is whitish and i love their color, stainless and pure wonderful creature, dancing to bata grin

If you lived in Lagos, did you notice those dried caterpillars being sold in the markets? People eat those as well. I think they soak them in ashes to draw out the poison, then add them to vegetable stew.

Too bad fear factor was cancelled! Though there's another show on now where Andrew Zimmerman(?) visits different countries to eat the wierdest foods there.

Are you talking about periwinkles? Those are not caterpillars, they are sea food and they are so yummy in edikang ikong. grin

Lol, Andrew Zimmerman does Bizarre foods, right? I always thought he could eat anything, until he went to some Asian country, I guess Thailand. He was served some food they had to leave to decay first for a number of days. It looked like something out of a gutter. He just couldn't eat it. At last, he's human after all! grin

yes! i watched that ewww. did you see the one he ate snake heart? i think in cambodia or somewhere in asia. they blended the heart i think with the guts. mix it in a drink or something like that. it was a greenish concotion, ewww

the french man is funny. but i love Andrew the more. i saw the one abt north africa. a lady made coucous for him with goat meat. she cooked with firewood grin
