Despite a string of denials by the Presidency to debunk rumors that Aisha Buhari has been given any portfolio and refuting reports that she has started operating from the former First Lady's office, investigations by FCT Post have discovered otherwise.

A source has revealed that 7 aides have been appointed to work for the office of the wife of the president. "What changed was just the name from Office of the First Lady to Office of the Wife of the President; but the activities of the office still remain the same", the source revealed.

Although the full names of the aides remain sketchy as at press time, the source further disclosed that Dr Hajo Sani has been named as Senior Special Assistant (SSA), to the Office of the Wife of the President which invariably makes her the Head of Administration to Aisha Buhari.

This was initially revealed from a congratulatory message on her appointment in Daily Trust by her friends and classmates. The uproar generated by that congratulatory message among Nigerians, who felt the President has again reneged on one of his campaign promises, led to the hurriedly released press statement that the Office of the First Lady has been scrapped and that the new Office of the Wife of the President will not be like the former.

However, a preview of the activities of Aisha Buhari in recent past proved otherwise. The appointment of Dr Hajo Sani as Head of Administration to the Office of the Wife of the President gives credence to this fact. Hajo is an expert in First Lady affairs. She was a close ally to former First Lady Late Maryam Babangida. In 1997, the Sani Abacha military junta appointed her as Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development.

She is the author of the book "FIRST LADYSHIP AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES IN NIGERIA" which chronicles the activities of all former first ladies in Nigeria and some in the western world. She is also the founder of the Non-government organization, Women and National Development (WAND). Hajo Sani holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a Masters' degree in Guidance and Counselling and a PhD in Public Administration and Policy Analysis.

Despite scrapping the office officially, the wife of the president will still engage in activities that will not be inimical to the survival or interest of the government headed by her husband hence the appointment of this professional(s) to manage her instead of her being surrounded by businesswomen and AGIP tagged women and men.
