you are most welcome sir, reflective glasses means when you are inside the house, someone from outside will not be able to see you, but you can see them clearly, those who are looking at the glass from outside will be seeing themselves like they are looking at the mirror, but non reflective is like ordinary glasses, those outside can see inside and those inside can see people outside, this glasses are now outdated actually people don't use that anymore expect for special cases or purposes, reflective glasses is better sir.

please what could be the cause of low voltage?

We use to have full voltage, but these days anytime they give us light it is Always low that it can't even charge a phone

The transformer is overloaded. Your area need to get higher rating of the transformer in order to take care of the demand load of your area. People close to the transformer will enjoy full voltage while people far from the transformer will experience low voltage.

Good day all

Is there a variant of P.O.P ceiling whereby pop material and PVC or other material are used together. I seriously fear for my roof leaking and destroying my pop o! I saw a ceiling somewhere that looks like pop was used together with cement and PVC or asbestos material

My roof is leaking.I intend to repair it but from experience I doubt the competence of people in this area to do a good job.
Pls kindly advice

I think you should find permanent solution to your leaking roof. So if you find a variant of POP and PVC what next? Sleep easy with leaking roof or what? Leaking roof will not only destroy POP but the woodwork, electrical and damp walls.

Please find good solution to your roof with the money you want to execute POP/PVC combo.

Good morning everyone.
I have benefited a lot from this thread and I will first of all like to appreciate all contributors so far. I have been following the thread because I had it in mind that in a short time I would be needing information about construction for a project I intend to start next year.

Being a novice I have followed all discussions with keen interest such that with what I have gathered so far from this thread I can have one or two contributions whenever construction is being discussed. So again many thanks to all those that have made this happened.

At this point I am negotiating a piece of land in Aguda, Surulere. I have attached the survey plan for the land, though actual measurements has shown that there probably has been an encroachment on the land as we got 15m * 27.8m after the exercise.

This plot is to be acquired by myself and a friend, and we will then divided into two equals. At the end of the day what I will be entitled to is half of this plot which will be a 7.5m * 27.8m.

There are however concerns from a few people we have consulted so far that this will be too small to construct anything meaningful. That there will be no space and the rooms will be too small.

What I intend to have on the land is a 2 storey building of 4 bedroom apartment on the ground floor for myself and my family, then 2 units of 2 bedroom on the other two floors, with parking space for just two cars.

I have gone round some areas around ebute metta and it's environs, and I have seen very nice structures built on equally narrow plots, though I didn't measure to check if those were more than the 7.5m we will have here or more.

At this point we need to make a decision fast so we don't appear unserious, and at the same time we need to confirm if the size of this land can work for the purpose we have in mind for it.

My fellows here, please I need honest and professional advice. Can this building I have in mind sit comfortably on this 7.5m * 27.8m land? If it can, will it be choked up as some have feared?

If this land cannot accommodate this building, what will be the best option for me on this land considering the fact that I want to have something on it I can stay with my family and some others to bring in rental income.

I thank everyone that would be contributing to this in advance.

Congrats as you want to commence this project it's a bold step. Well, you can achieve building a home with 7.5*27.8m land but the design of the house you want to build matters, I mean what and what you want in the house is of the essence and will contribute to achieving this.

We achieved a 6 bedroom ensuite duplex with boxing room, laundry, anteroom and kitchen on a half plot.

https://www.nairaland.com/2635697/building-6bedroom-duplex-half-plotI

So it's achievable but the sizes of the room may not be that big.
Thanks

Thanks for your response. Could you help with the exact dimensions of the half plot of land you built this 6 bedroom duplex on?

It's 30ft by 100ft that's 9 by 30m. But we have enough space behind the house that was used for soakaway /septic tank and good space at the front for at least 3cars comfortably...
