Hello my great Engineers in the house, please I will like to be enlightened on the construction of a water tank stand over a septic tank. My engineer advised I build my tank stand on the septic / soak away tank we are about to construct. He said we will only need 4pcs of 16mm to reinforce the water tank stand pillar from inside the ground to the top(where d water tank will be placed). And 12mm rods will be used for other things like underground pillars, first chaining, second chaining and the slab.
Please is this best way to go about it?
God bless you as you drop your comments / advices.
I think it's safe cos my engineer suggested same to me because of lack of space, but to avoid had I known I rejected it. And luckily, the owner of land behind mine was willing to sell his land so I bought it.
I think it's safe but the plan has to be included before starting the construction of the septic tank.

If that is the only option/alternative you have, then it's okay and safe as long as your engineer understands what he intends to do.

I have done same for a client as well due to space on land.
Land/Soil was hard and I used Y16 as grade/ground beam/12"(depth of pit was 9 foot). Installed 6 column points all with use of Y16 used Y8 as stirrups at a spacing of 150mm. I used Y12 for mid section chaining after 5 blocks of septic tank. I used Y16 as septic tank/soakaway decking slab beam and Y12 for matting.
After the extension we did another chaining and subsequently did the decking of the water tank stand at the desired height.
Please pick an appropriate concrete mix for all your works.
Good luck.

.

Its achievable
In as much as right mix ratio (c30) is adhere to. 12mm rebar isn't acceptable for column, advise him to revise whole rebar design.

It is achievable, but if land space is not an issue, do it separately

This is well explained
Please can a 9 inches pillar reinforced with 16mm rods and 150mm slab reinforced with 12mm septic tank carry the load of car? There is limited land space for number of cars, we may result to parking on septic tank. These are the materials my engineer proposed. Thanks so much

Yes and No. It is all in the method used at the site.
Just as I've explained in my previous post.
You can substitute Y12 for ground beam, Y16 for columns (depending on your terrain you can install basket to hold the column and add the grade beam).
I use a 20-22(max 25) block/cement bag during moulding (hollow block). I fill my block holes with concrete. Install chaining after 5-6 course, more block work to desired height and concrete filling of block holes. Do the form work for the slab, install beam(external, centre and height of beam 9"wink,run slab matting with Y12 and pour concrete of appropriate mix(thickness of 6"wink. Ensure you cut out your manhole to size.
Good luck.

This is risky. Don't try it.
Reason: The load over time is going to stress your septic tank and soak away if not properly done. Especially if the soil is not hard enough to support such load on it.

Good evening sirs/mas. Please i need your inputs on these two quotations i got for the carpentry work of my parapet. The house dimensions total 208ft which is 63.4m. I actually thought that curves were gotten from plywoods, i don't know why they are both separated in the quotations. Please help me great engineers in the house.

Why not do the precast type
No wood is required, so it is cheaper

Thanks for your input. I have actually considered it one time but after enquiries, i was told its not safe as it can break off and fall at any moment in time.

Lols
Who told you that?
Any parapet can fall off if not properly done, it has nothing to do with wood or precast.

Do consider Precast or Polystyrene parapet. They are both cheaper, faster and lighter.
