We had both cladding done, the finished woods were imported from South Africa and the external was factory treated, so much so that water and sun has zero effect on them.

Offcourse it was expensive and I'm yet to see that available in Nigeria.

Hi,

Please don't advise people to use blocks that's been exposed for several years for construction. Other than partitioning. Such block should not be used for substructure work or superstructure wall carrying dead loads.

Conduct a compressive strength test on your exposed blocks and show us the result.

This begs the question, should regular blocks be used for load carrying duties? Shouldn't that be reserved for reenforced pillars?

I've seen demonstrated builders on here use blocks found onsite that has sat for a while on construction jobs.

I need advise on how to clean plaster residue on Casement windows.

The plaster guys i contracted seems to ve left a mess in the site, which i just discovered now (see pics below).

Please feel free to recommend any solvent, method or professional cleaner.

Pour a lot of water on it.... Give it time and come back with water and detergent solution to wash off...

Should work, but takes effort.

Use a spong with friction not just any cloth

no need to be too worried chief, can you get Astonish stain cleaner, just spray and wipe including the glass..you can do this during the clean up..I once recommended this on a thread in property section some years ago.. and I always advice one you tell your bricklayer to have a foam around while plastering, to immediately wipe off the splash during plastering
