This way even graduates can participate and become owners of business instead of looking for employment.

But that is what polytechnics were meant to do. There is no aspect of building construction that is not taught at the polytechnics. However, the quest for paper certificate has derailed people from that primary purpose and turned polytechnics into another theoretical school, instead of the technology and hands-on training approach. People now see polytechnics as prerequisite for post graduate diploma and then masters. Students no longer take the opportunity of industrial attachment programs to nurture skills on what they learned during OND or HND. Everyone just wants to mark the register and get the credit for graduation, rather than learning during IT.
In the US, there are community colleges where one can learn to be plumber, electrician, welding, mechanic , HVAC, etc. These blue collar jobs are becoming more lucrative these days. With the needed oversight and regulations, people who graduate from such programs are very competent in their specific jobs.

At the basic entry level, the plumber is trained to be competent in doing basic hands-on tasks. He is competent but still a novice. Remember that in any career, there are novice, intermediates and experts. Compared with a masters plumber, at this higher level, they have more responsibilities. For instance, a masters level technician plumber is trained to know building regulations, codes , interpretation of mechanical drawings, materials testing etc. All these require formal education and training beyond the entry level scope. Now you can see that 2 years of OND is not enough to cover all of these things.

The only important thing that you can do is what I predicted earlier and you are doing it well. Please, keep manifesting what I predicted and it's being taken note of. It's a game. And remember you don't have all the time so be faster in pouring it out before you will be put back in chains. Am sure they will soon catch up with you.

Point of correction if he has been trained he is not a novice but might need additional skill set to work in some specialised field or get knowledgeable in the regulations.

In the UK he will be able to go onto his Master’s level education as they do substitute training for education if one demonstrates the relevant skill set without a 1st degree.

When we talk of Nigeria we have to make provisions based on the Nigerian market need and the Nigérian technician and tailor the provision accordingly.

There are some houses 2 streets away from my own in PHC, all the tenants more than 30 parked out cos during the rains, they have to build plank bridge to get home with folded trousers. Reason, community sold the Canal as land an it was sand filled and built upon water has nowhere to go

Check Bush Street/Sunmola Street (in between Maryland Mall and Bush Street). Enter through e back gate if St, Agnes Catholic Church. Find out if there are other entrances to the estate, especially beside Domino Pizza on Anthony-Ikorodu service lane.

You can ask those security guys at the entrance of the Maryland Shopping Mall, for direction.
