Other builders show off clients' projects built to standards at record costs and the clients give them accolades. Not only is our friend here the builder and the client, he is also the reviewer. The lizard that fell from the iroko tree... While some get numerous referrals from their clients, others trade words with theirs - very unwise if you ask me. 3strikes: 8 Likes |

KolaShangOne: n3xt: kopell: I am still trying to figure-out what Brabus should have done, when @KolashangOne asked him the above question! Should he have IGNORED KolashangOne or should he have answered him, in a few words as he did? What would YOU do, in his place? From HappyKay, to itswell1, to Sensegiver, to 3strikes, to Bigemouth,to Maverick, to Erico2K and many other multi-user id's that you people have been using to "ask and answer" yourselves in the same breath, YOU ARE NOT SAYING ANYTHING NEW! It was agreed by all to keep this thread CLEAN and that ALL complaints/Bashing/madness should be taken to special, dedicated thread opened by many people, including Hajj M, Egunmogaji, Brabus himself, etc to air your grievances. But like broken record, small and very sad people keep polluting this wonderful thread. You said this matter has been on for over three years so, what are you saying now that you have not said in the last three years? But l am surprised that not one of the people crying here have taken any concrete action against Brabus, except to derail this thread. Is it that they are Cowards, illiterate, ignorant, Criminals themselves (source of money and cant stand-up to scrutiny) or just mentally disturbed? I know they will soon label me a "Brabus-supporter", as they usually do to anyone that does not follow their endless wailing and derailing of this thread but l am sure if they read my previous post on Brabus, they can/cant be honest enough to accept that l dont support bad behaviour by any builder. Brabus has done wrong and it is either we leave in him to God's judgement or we prosecute him using the appropriate organs of Government but we cannot turn this thread to a hate thread. Its for learning about Construction. Again, l find that some Builders (l can understand previous Clients) are simply jealous of that Chateau or whatever you call it and get really angry whenever it is mentioned but they like to hide behind some other user-id's or instigate others to do their dirty work. One particular one only posts here whenever Brabus name is mentioned (and l am not referring to kolashangOne) Instead of derailing this thread, l will suggest that those who have made it their life-duty to see that Brabus does not get another job (and he keeps getting jobs!) should contribute money among themselves and take giant Bill-boards and Front-page, Newspaper adverts, to tell their story, the same story they have been telling in the last three years and Clients are still not listening! Enough of derailing this thread and no one should talk about Brabus Chateau again, l am tired of hearing about it (not that l dont appreciate a good build when l see one but it is making some people develop high blood pressure as we can all see). Brabus, l know you have the right to answer a question when asked, l know you have a right to show the picture of your house (if it is easy to steal client money to build this Chateau, @itswell1 should try it and build a house like this ) but please, for the sake others, use other buildings as examples so that your house is not the cause of some other people going unclad in broad daylight. With what some of your Clients feel, l can imagine how they feel seeing that your own house is not sinking or waterlogged while their own is although, some of them also share in the blame, for not listening to advice. back to topic, construction and new building ideas 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Forging ahead with showcasing some fantastic work by builders on this forum. (Hajj if you prefer that I set up a separate thread I can do that.) This is not about one aspect but a totality of workmanship that's possible in Nigeria. 3 Likes

For those that are in the stages of finishing, these are good things to keep in mind. Perhaps Skimanski can guide us on how he turns out breathtaking finishes like this each and every time and not just a one hit wonder. 2 Likes 1 Share

jossy26: Dont kill me with laugh! But l support your suggestion. What l dont like is people just repeating the same thing for 3years and not doing anything in 'real life' about it. Any Client that says l have not heard about Brabus deserves whatever he/she gets but l think adult Clients need to do their own search and make their own decisions afterall, Its their money! Especially when l realized that they are using multiple i.d's to ask themselves question and then proceed to answer the same question by themselves! That is FRAUD as well. 5 Likes |

n3xt: Whether you show it or not, it does not affect people like me personally. It is those 'crying people' and one other builder that dont want you to show it, that are going unclad over your house. Anyway, its your house and you can decide to show or not show it. I cant stop you. But l want us to stop discussing Brabus, this free advert must stop. 4 Likes |

n3xt: Your security bars... they are so simple and classy. I have one of your security gate and fence bar pictures saved in my "Naija House" Google drive folder EgunMogaji: I've just added these window security bars to the folder too. Just so simple and very functional. I still would love to exclude them. I've been searching for a sensible alternative. |

On a serious note now, I need our seasoned professionals in the house or those who have built houses before to show me picture of Step-tiles Aluminium. This might sound funny and ridiculous but I think step-tiles Aluminium is different from what I've thought it to be for many years now. Experienced homeowners and builders who have used longspan with step-tiles design in their project should pls share pics. _________ I thought this (in pic below) is step-tiles Aluminium roofing sheet.

msogunro: Thanks baba. I value simple things in life. Person wey no get money must have sense and listen to exposed people. Just go to the highbrow Ikoyi and VI, you'll see that most of them use the simple stuffs and not the overly expensive "anko/egbejoda" designs. I was able to do away with burglar proof in most part of the house cos it obstruct the flow. I'm presently working on another design which is like a louvre blade (can be opened and closed) for a contemporary build. Pls remember that the chateau is built btw 2010 and 2013. We have newer designs now. |

msogunro: I've designed a window security system that will have the frame embedded in the wall but the actual security bars to be removable (when easily removed there will be no trace of a security bar). I'll be testing it out first on the garage apartment. But for sure I'm not doing the embedded security windows. |

n3xt: 1.) There is personal/private security 2.) There is also neighbourhood/general security if you have number 2, you dont need much of number 1. If you dont have number 2, you better invest in number 1 That is the difference between Ikoyi (highbrow area) and Mushin (No-brow area!). Everybody loves it 'simple and beautiful' but at times, 'necessity and survival' changes a man's thinking. By the way, its very true, if you have limited resources, you must have the sense to know how to get the biggest mileage out of it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

jossy26: Hahhahaha! You wan make Brabus B.P increase by 10% this night? Brabus will be like, 'Not again, not another house disaster'! I am just looking at the way Brabus and Egunmogaji are avoiding direct contact/conversations with each other! Interesting! As Adults, l think we should be able to allow past events, get behind us. We might be angered by someone's behaviour but after awhile, they should apologise and we should let the matter be. Anyway, make una kontinue. 2 Likes |

Excuzeme: Baba!! LOL @ No-Brow area. In all honesty, if people will read the good details and learn. The Chateau was a well planned project that has been conceived over 15 years ago. I actually created the estate and carefully choose the end of the block. I did some CSR project to win the heart of the community and have full access to the 24 hours patrol of the local vigilantes. So, the automated barrier entry at the gate is well designed to trigger an alarm when people get past certain region in the house. Not saying much more than this. I actually created my own highbrow Sagamu castle in a no-brow environment and set the boundaries. I have number 1 and the support I enjoyed from number 2 cuts across the whole city as a Patron. You know all this things na. I use the development levies I should be paying in the highbrow areas to do "the-boy-is-good" for the locals. |

Excuzeme: Maybe I was naive before but after the last fracas on here and the exposure that folks are creating multi userid and the mods actually do not care about this rule "19. Don't use alternate accounts to access Nairaland after being banned. If you do, make sure we don't find out." I have made a personal decision that some specific userids are dead and buried in my book and not to be ever acknowledged in the future . I also look carefully at new userids before I engage them. Oh and also no one should even try to contact me via Nairaland email (I've made enough friends on here already and don't need new ones I have to remember why I'm here in the first instance, to learn how to build the best house I can in Nigeria and nothing else.
