Swiss Govt Pledges $8million to Reconstruction/Development of Northeast States Affected by Boko Haram

According to the Charge de Affaires at the Swiss Embassy in Nigeria, Dr. Daniel Cavegn, the Swiss government has “established quite an extensive network with Borno government, especially on the unfortunate situation you find yourself. We have done a lot to increase the humanitarian aid to the northeast States ravaged by Boko Haram though this may not be enough.”

Dr. Cavegn made his remarks during a trip to Maiduguri, the capital or Borno State, and in the company of top officials from that State.

Usman Shuwa, the spokesman for Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, thanked Swiss officials for identifying the intense humanitarian needs of the three northeastern States.
