LOGISTICS & INVENTORY MANAGER

Duties
You should be able to recommend optimal transportation modes, routing or frequency.
Create procedures for logistics activities and resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
Must be able to monitor import or export processes of goods and services in compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
Must be able to negotiate transportation or services.
Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.


Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.

Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.

Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.

Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product
volumes or mixes, or carriers.

Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.

Implement or monitor carbon or environmental management, accounting, or audit systems.

Have broad knowledge in Supply Network Management, Strategic Procurement and International business development; delivering positive outcomes with strong and sustainable gains.
Talented and inventive professional with a proven track record of accelerating revenue growth through strategic and tactical development of transportation networks and process improvement driving revenue growth, cost savings, and market development. Identifies and capitalizes on emerging business ventures to propel an organization to the top tier of its industry.
Procurement Strategy Development and deployment, Negotiations, Strategic sourcing
 Maintaining documentation, imports and Exports records,
Coordinated pre and post-shipment logistics operations,
Coordinate timely turn around time to issues and queries.
Managed door-to-door finance/logistics services for the company:
Inbound logistics
Analyzing proforma invoice
Establishing Form M
Reduction/elimination of import cost area such as shipment loss, damage, port detention, project downtime and project management.
Give professional advices as regards shipping and global logistics
Communication with office and field personnel
Vendor management
Time management
Inventory management
Client Management
Ensuring that companies compliance program is strictly followed and that all shipping activities are processed in accordance with the companies Code of Conduct and compliance program. Also in accordance with local and international laws,
To process shipments in accordance with companies - Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
Taking statistics of job performance, and preparing reports.
Serviced liaison with shipping companies and customs, online/real time data input and updating clients tracking

Requirements
Education - Graduate Caliber with 2-4 years solid logistics experience in e-commerce, courier and/or logistic companies. Membership of CILT or CIPS is additional advantage.
Import & Export Logistics - Verifiable working knowledge of customs clearing, Airfreight, forwarding, last mile logistics, HS codes,
Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for enhancing turnaround time, delivery lead time including the relative costs and benefits.
Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources.
Order Processing - Knowledge of packaging materials, order handling processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods.
Law and Government - Knowledge of transport laws, permits, Customs, SON, FRSC, Police, VIO and LASTMA relationship management.
