I will like to know if anyone is currently studying at the university of waterloo? secondly, can one apply for study permit in any African country (if already a temporary resident like a student). if its possible to apply, do one need to state on SOP why going to Canada to study if already a student as above
your reply will be appreciated.

Hi room, I just applied for study permit against january 2016 to study at a college in canada. I've paid half the tution fee and a 6 months statement of account with 13Million closing balance was included in my application..i'm being sponsored by my mother..other documents included to show financial capability was her landed properties, I didn't include her 6 months pay slip.. now this is giving me concern cos, people i've talked to told me, they all included a 6 months pay slip of their sponsors. Pls will this affect my application..

Applicants will generally require:

-Proof of acceptance and enrolment to an accredited academic institution in Canada;

-Possess a valid passport/travel
document, and provide proof of
financial support.

- Ties to their home country and
evidence of their intention to leave
Canada at the end of their studies.

With this, Pay slip is nt MANDATORY

Hi thesoj,
My sponsor is my dad's friend. Hope that won't be a problem. How do we prove our relationship? Does he need to supply me with data page of his international passport? In general,what do I get from him?

Good morning friends... @thesoj @ayooluwatoni @ favour @ teesboy and all my NL'S: I appreciate your regular encouragement and enlightenment: @thesoj; thanks for the link you posted for me, for SOP sample..you are all blessed.

After my first denial, I hereby want reapply again, The visa officer wrote that I was refused (on 24th sept, after my medical test)
but the CIC did not indicate that in the reasons why I was refused:
there reasons are;
1. Travel history(I have never travelled abroad before, how do I defend this?, I have only travelled to Ghana couple of times through seme over 10 years ago?)
2.Family ties in Canada and in your country of residence(pls how do I prove this?)
3. purpose of visit.(Is it the same as SOP or LOE)
4.personal asset and financial status(My sponsor is not a close relative, he just agreed to be my sponsor with SOA=17M, Does it realy matter?)
5.Someone said to me that I was refused because I failed my medical but If I failed medical I suppose the CIC should specify, would it be necessary to run another medical test or I should use the previous one since it last for 1 year ?
6. @ Favour, thesoj: in your last comment, you talked about the study leave letter 4 four years, if they might find it hard to believe? should I remove it in the next application?

Pls and pls I need your urgent advise,
thanks a lot.

thesoj:
So true. I just noticed that too once you brought attention to it. @Sammypraise

Hi. I am not sure about standardized tests for undergraduates because I am a graduate student. And no a low tuition fee uni should not be a red flag. Unless there are inconsistencies with your application, I don't see why the tuition cost will be a problem
