For most people, space exploration is awe-inspiring as we are continuously going beyond anything we once thought possible to relay information from far away planets.

For others, that just isn't quite enough.

Photographs beamed back to Earth from Mars taken by the Curiousity rover seem to offer a fascinating insight into the Red Planet owing to clearer-than- ever- before footage.
But for the more imaginative among us, the photos offer much more than simple glimpses of rock on a desolate desert landscape - they show signs of life.

Wwhile NASA aren't pursuing these leads just yet, that doesn't mean that there aren't mermaids, World War One helmets and spaceships on the planet.
Because conspiracy-theorists have been doing some research of their own and have reached some staggering conclusions.

For instance, many believe they have spotted an Egyptian Pyramid on the planet.
Others say they can clearly see a human skull, a levitating sphere and even a human woman.

But don't rush to blockade your front door in fear of a Martian attack just yet, as the female-shaped figure would only be 8cm tall once perspective has been taken into account, theorists predict.
The latest wave in theories has been reignited after a popular UFO-spotting website said a spaceship may have landed on Mars.

Writing on the UFO Sightings Delay website, Scott C Waring said: "I found this anomaly in the latest Curiosity Rover photo. The black object looks like a crashed UFO. "The craft is only about 2.5-3 meters across, so it probably only held a few passengers. Since many of the figures we found on Mars are about 5-8 cm tall, then we can conclude that his [sic] ship could carry about 20-40 passengers."

But, as always, those spoilsport scientists have poured cold water on the theories with their silly, rational, well-informed reasoning.
Speaking to CNN, Ashwin Vasavada, a scientist who works on the Mars rover project, said: "We have color HD cameras on this rover that far exceed anything ever sent to the planet before.

"And yet in order to find these things that kind of trick your brain into thinking it's a mermaid or whatever, you do have to zoom in where it's kind of a fuzzy shadow at that point."

He could be referring to a phenomenon called pareidolia, which is where your brain recognises a familiar object or pattern even though its not actually there.

Or could he be wrong? You decide.

Only the pyramid photo raises a little dust .. scientifically it has been assumed or speculated that Mars MAY harbour life down beneath it's dark deep craters... and some few ancient texts has suggested humans migrated from Mars ...(doubt that crap tho)

But there are two possibilities here.

It is either we are alone in the universe or we are not (and are just one out of countless others)

the former is almost impossible..

And both are equally scary

Pareidolia (/ pærɨˈdoʊliə/ parr-i- DOH-lee-ə ) is a psychological phenomenon involving a stimulus (an image or a sound) wherein the mind perceives a familiar pattern where none actually exists.
Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, the " man in the moon ", the "moon rabbit", and hidden messages within recorded music played in reverse or at higher- or lower-than-normal speeds.
Pareidolia is the visual or auditory form of apophenia , which is the perception of patterns within random data. Combined with apophenia and hierophany (manifestation of the sacred), pareidolia may have helped ancient societies organize chaos and make the world intelligible.

yes indeed.
The possibility that we are the only life is very scary. As is the possibility that we are not.
However, I maintain that we are not.

Our solar system is not the most organized, our sun is not the biggest, hell, even our galaxy is nothing to write home about compared to others. Not only that, we also live on the edge of the galaxy. undecided

So why on earth will we be the only form of carbon based life?

In fact, I suspect Jupiter might possess life.

That's why i said that we are alone is almost impossible. .

Anyone who knows the vastness of the universe will definitely know we can never be alone. . We might just 1 out of billions if not trillion other life forms and planets that possess life though some might still be in form of single celled or micro organism. why some might still be highly developed and complex than us.

In our solar system, Am betting on Jupiter's Galileo's moons Ganymede, io, Europa and Callisto to possess life even in the simplest single celled form, most of them have shown to possess water.

it is speculated that Europa's ice ocean might be bigger than all the oceans in our planet earth..

There are thousands of planets that are in the Goldilock zone outside our solar system, we just lack the technology it takes now to explore them.. Remember most of them are many light years away embarassed

New Horizons‍ ' antennas
Communication with the spacecraft is via X band. The craft had a communication rate of 38 kbit/s at Jupiter; at Pluto's distance, a rate of approximately 1 kbit/s per transmitter is expected. Besides the low bandwidth, Pluto's distance also causes a latency of about 4.5 hours (one-way). The 70 m (230 ft) NASA Deep Space Network (DSN) dishes are used to relay commands once it is beyond Jupiter. The spacecraft uses dual redundant transmitters and receivers, and either right- or left-hand circular polarization. The downlink signal is amplified by dual redundant 12-watt traveling-wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) mounted on the body under the dish. The receivers are new, low-power designs. The system can be controlled to power both TWTAs at the same time, and transmit a dual-polarized downlink signal to the DSN that nearly doubles the downlink rate. DSN tests early in the mission with this dual polarization combining technique were successful, and the capability is now considered operational (when the spacecraft power budget permits both TWTAs to be powered).

Part of the reason for the delay between the gathering of and transmission of data is because all of the New Horizons instrumentation is body-mounted. In order for the cameras to record data, the entire probe must turn, and the one-degree-wide beam of the high-gain antenna will almost certainly not be pointing toward Earth. Previous spacecraft, such as the Voyager program probes, had a rotatable instrumentation platform (a "scan platform"wink that could take measurements from virtually any angle without losing radio contact with Earth. New Horizons‍ ' elimination of excess mechanisms was implemented to save weight, shorten the schedule, and improve reliability during its 15-year lifetime.

The Voyager 2 spacecraft experienced platform jamming at Saturn; the demands of long time exposures at Uranus led to modifications of the mission such that the entire probe was rotated to make the time exposure photos at Uranus and Neptune, similar to how New Horizons will rotate.

I have a theory though. cheesy

What if the reasons we haven't been able to answer the "are we alone" question is because the universe is just not old enough?

If we are to assume the big bang started the universe, then it took ten billion years for stars to even start forming. Another billion years would pass before planets came into existence.

On these planets, there would be a very violent environment for a VERY long time before settling. And then we have another problem. After settling, they become dormant for long periods of time. Until some thing spontaneous occurs. Then it gives birth to life.

With this, I estimate that the earliest form of life is not older than four billion years.

This continues to develop, of course. But evolution is equally slow. And it will take a long period before it becomes multicellular.
And then it has to develop in the direction of intelligence. Life doesn't need brains to survive. In fact, I wonder why brains came into existence at all. The longest living creatures, in fact, most of the most successful life forms on earth don't have brains.

And then, these brains have to develop technology. Soon, they will begin to wonder, where is everyone? shocked
But they will soon find the light speed limit, requiring several civilizationa to solve it.

With all this, I seriously don't think any life form in the universe can find us. Neither can we find them. Why? Because we are still too young. The universe is still too young. This is very similar to the medieval ages. When america and the rest of the world was isolated. I am sure, they too must have asked, are we alone on earth? What is beyond the ocean? shocked
They were too young to know. But several years later. We indeed know that there was an entire civilization beyond the sea. Several of them in fact. The Mayans, Aztecs, Incas . . .

So, my theory in summary is, we cannot find other forms of life because our technology is not old enough. Neither can they, because we're the same age. They also came into existence at around the same time we did. Even if they are more advanced than us, it can't be more than a few years.

Most people think of aliens as highly advanced beings with insane tech and faster than light travel. I ask why?
Why would they be more advanced? We are the same age nah. grin even if they are far smarter, they would probably haven't achieved lightspeed travel yet.

No proof indeed. That is the bummer. However, I suspect that any civilization advanced enough to find us must have colonized several empty planets. Just like we are doing now.
The more we are, the more our collective intelligence. We should number around 20 billion before we even think of exceeding light speed barrier. cool

okay, thanks., lemme check..

Modified

When the astronauts are putting up the American flag it waves. There is no wind on the Moon.

The flag is held up by a horizontal bar and simply moves when it is unfurled and as the pole is being fixed into position by the astronauts. The flagpole is light, flexible aluminium and continues to vibrate after the astronauts let go, giving the impression of blowing in the wind.
Hehe cheesy I watched the video again and what was going on there ain't vibration.. yes, there was an horizontal pole on the flag, but the bottom corner of the flag was waving as if it was being blown by wind. kindly watch the first video again..

No stars are visible in the pictures taken by the Apollo astronauts from the surface of the Moon.

The Apollo landing takes place during lunar mornings, with the Sun shining brightly. The stars are not bright enough in this light to be captured in the photographs.
Watching the video again, all I saw was a dark lunar atmosphere, except morning on moon is dark.. we do see stars as early as 1 am in earth now
No blast crater is visible in the pictures taken of the lunar landing module.

The landing module touches down on solid rock, covered in a layer of fine lunar dust, so there is no reason why it would create a blast crater. Even if the ground were less solid, the amount of thrust being produced by the engines at the point of landing and take off is very low in comparison to a landing on Earth because of the relative lack of gravitational pull

4) The landing module weighs 17 tons and yet sits on top of the sand making no impression. Next to it astronauts’ footprints can be seen in the sand.

The layer of lunar dust is fairly thin, so the landing module sits on the solid rock. The dust, whilst blown away by the blast from the descent engines, quickly settles back on the ground and is under the astronauts when they begin their moonwalk.[\quote]

Everyone can see the joke these so called proof, the thrust from the ship is enough to displace the thin layered fine particles., and won't settle down on the same spot.

Make I just stop here I beg
