nobody worship them,they are culture and we are asked to not kill them since they harm no one but we don't worship them.

eke as used in names doesnt refer to de eke(python) the op is talking about.
Eke has more than four meanings in igbo language depending on the way it is pronounced in each case.
Now the name nweke can mean two things. Son/daughter of the creator.
Next, in the olden days, a child born on a particular market day is named after that market day. That is where you get names like nwEKE,nwaNKWO nwORIE nwAFOR.
