abimic:Is that a dico? No, thats probably a blog post. Bloggers or writers are also prone to mistakes. You also added that you were taught this in kindergarten right? And what you are insinuating now is that you are ignorant of the fact that most of those kindargarten english are wrong? Although people still use them in regular expressions, that is not enough proof to back your claims. |

arnoldwilliamz: Whosoever says Nigerian English is a myth goofed. I understand you 100 per cent jare. The fact that some people are uninformed makes the issue hard. Even renowned scholars like David Crystal and Braj Kachru agreed that there is Nigerian English so why should someone who knows nothing or little about language deny its existence and link it to imperfection. For anyone who cares, read on Indian English, Australian English, even South African English and you will be amazed that there are many nativised varieties of English language. The uniformed need to be informed. 1 Like 1 Share |

londoner: So the English spoken in South Africa is incorrect, likewise the one spoken in India? Please read about World Englishes before saying what you do not know. |

Coolcube: The English that is actually mispoken in Nigeria is incorrect English. To pronounce the b in plumber is incorrect.....so South Africans or Indians do that? Is it correct in any language to say 'aks' instead of 'ask'? Are you going to claim that as Nigerian English when it is clear inability to pronounce the word correctly? Stop trying to hide behind other nationalities to make excuses for Nigerians. Even Australians have their own words for the English equivalent it is not a collection of mispronounced words, although there is also slang. Same with South Africans who have other influences in their language. Even the terms that the op pointed out are terms that do not originate from Nigeria but are being applied incorrectly by Nigerians. Take a look at the op's list again. The example of the interviewer not knowing that you do not pronounce the b in debt, although you write it is an example. Even him thinking 'det' was 'death' shows there is also an issue with pronouncing 'th'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HcDfR7Rtx0 |

princechrming:You still have to review this word in outright details. As you will agree with me, a single word does not necessarily have a single meaning. That's the case here. Impeach, as explained here is only one of more than one meanings it has. It can as well mean to remove from office having found one guilty of offense, and that's exactly what you wrote against. |
