The speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly Rt Hon Najeem Salaam has said in his opinion that the NYSC scheme should not be scrapped.

He said this while responding to questions from representatives of the Batch C 2014 National Youth Service Corps who paid him a courtesy visit
in his office in Osogbo yesterday the 31st of August 2015. in his words; "The scheme is not just for the youth to serve the country but also a way
to get the graduates familiarised and integrated into the rich culture and ethnicity in the country"

He further advised the visiting Youth Corpers to be good ambassadors of their states of origin wherever they found themselves in the country and beyond. He also enjoins them to emulate the hospitality and accommodating nature of the
people of the State of Osun.
