Please just take your time and the read the story and don't mind my typos..

My dad went to Ebonyi state precisely for a traditional marriage of his friend's son of recent. But by the time he was through, it was already late but still he decided that he would still come back to Anambra state. On his way back, he noticed that there wasn't any vehicles coming to and fro on the express ways along Enugu road leading to Anambra, as it was about past mid night then. So he decided to park his car and sleep on the road so as to continue his journey before day break. He stopped in front of an old abandoned rusted pick up van.
But before then, he had already called and informed us that he won't make it back home, that we should expect him in the morning. Dad said he wanted to sleep inside or under his car but he didn't after a second thought, so he now went beside the Bush were the car was parked and climbed a tree so as to take a nap. It wasn't too long when he was on the tree as it was around past 1am at the moment, he heard an oncoming vehicle from that same nearby Bush cause there was a road along it, when the vehicle approached, he saw it was policemen cause they were on their uniform.
They stopped their vehicle near the abandoned rusted pick up van and moved towards were my dad's car was parked and was checking whether someone was inside or under the car, when they saw nobody was there, they also used their torchlight to check the bushes around, after that, one of them concluded that my dad must have spoilt and the owner left it there. So they went back to their own car and brought out guns that were put inside a Ghana must go bag and kept it inside the abandoned rusted van(lest I forget, the policemen were six in number) and left in that same route they came from.
All those while, my dad was watching them closely (though he was so afraid) because he can't place what exactly was going on, he decided to climb down from the tree to know exactly what the content of the bag was, as he was about to, he heard another oncoming vehicle from that exact route, he immediately climbed back to the tree, The vehicle that came this time around was a camry and the men(masked) inside the car was six in number but this time around, they were wearing plain clothes, so he couldn't place whether they were the policemen who came earlier.
They stopped their car and went and collected those guns kept by the police men inside the van and left for an operation nobody was aware of, Dad was now aware exactly what was happening and he wanted to leave that place to avoid stories that touch, on a second thought again, he asked himself what if he meets them the road, he concluded he won't go anywhere til day break.
After an hour or so, those men came back with 3 bags stuffed with money. They took 2 bags along with them and kept one bag and the guns inside the rusted old van and left. Few minutes after they left, the police men came back and took the guns and the bag, one of them asked the other to check whether the thing inside the bag was money, which he confirmed before they left.
Later, around 4am, my dad left for home. After the incident he witnessed, he vowed that he wouldn't have anything to do with them again. He always tag them "Ndi Oshi" meaning Armed robbers.

So i read the Story 3 times slowly.

Could not help it, but kept going back to where your father climbed a tree to sleep. A car owner? he could have slept where he was coming from in his car, he could have slept anywhere but he climbed a tree?in the night?i will wait for other Nairalanders that are far more intelligent than me, to say something about this your story.

There is no need to write what i feel about your story.

I see nothing wrong with him doing that cause he has encountered so many things in the past...... Besides, he is a night crawler way back in his youthful days

They can be the two......But it appears they lean towards the latter...

Depends on who you are. If you are a criminal they are enemies but if u are a law abiding citizen then they are friends.

Among broken eggs, the rotten ones smell more. In fact, they stink. If u know what I mean.

Op, first we need to be grateful to God that your dad wasn't hurt, because he took a big risk. If he was sighted, we may not have heard this story. Secondly, it is common knowledge that some security agents who are supposed to protect us, are the ones behind the mask.

There are bad eggs amongst NPF and that is why successive IGP have always promised to sanitize the system.

Please advice your dad to avoid night journey because its disadvantages are far more than the advantages.
