THE game appears up for most tax-evading companies in the country as the Federal Government would soon commence tax- audit of all the 450,000 firms operating in the country. The essence of the audit is to catch the companies that have been short- changing the government by avoiding paying tax, the Federal Inland Revenue Service said on Sunday. Statistics provided by the FIRS showed that only 125,000 companies, representing 27.7 per cent of the 450,000 firm operating in the country, paid any form of tax. The remaining 325,000 have been evading taxation. Click below to read more > http://www.guruswapers.com/2015/09/tax-fg-to-audit-registered-companies.html

Its bad of we nigerians But I strongly blame govt for not providing basic amenities. When basic facilities are on ground, citizens have no reason in tax evasion. Situation I provide everything for myself by myself still carry myself to FIRS to pay my tax! Its disheartening |

kenonze: Basic amenities are supposed to be provided with tax revenues and not the other way round . Tax evasion results in a lack of revenues to provide the social and physical infrastructure needed to fend for the citizens. |
