Am being discourage,because am using N95 too.meanwhile,do vimio live tv works?i downloaded sth like that,but it was really a junk.subscribe,repetition of just a programme,channels not working wahala etc.

Naturally. I am working on a Danish initiative on next generation mobile media platform, where DVB-H has been tested as a solution for a mobile broadcast technology. In this project we wanted to work with as much open source software as possible, so we used different software pieces together with hardware from Dektec (DTA-110T). We have now developed our own encoder (xSTREAME) to do live transcoding to H.264 (because VLC SUCKS BIG TIME), our own OMA BCAST compliant ESG Server (called EPSILON) and some more bits and pieces. Right now we are working on our own TV player based on QT,

To answer both questions ;-): Yes, I have tested the player you provided, and it is newer than one of our existing players, but unfortunately still has many parts that are proprietary. My partner found a cached link on Google a week ago or something announcing a new TV-player with touch screen support for s60v5 . It was on the official Nokia site, however it is gone now. Very strange indeed . This is the player, I am looking for.
The newest firmware to the N96 had a complete new player, with a much better interface and working with 3G as well. However this has all of the interactivity possibilities from the OMA BCAST removed (even the lighter spec. in the BMCO profile). The software can be installed on the 5800 as well (just force it) - at least the older version we have, can. This also works on a N97, but when it goes to fullscreen, it doesn’t react to touch to the screen. You’ll have to push up/down volume or take-a-picture button. We have tested the SU-33W on the 5800 and N97, and we are working on opening the protocol to make it work with more devices. We would really love to see it working with the MAEMO operating system.
The system we have build supports more than the Nokia player can handle, so we had to strip it to work (ADP functionality e.g.) . Now it supports OMA BCAST EPG, SMS and external links interactivity. It can receive live DVB-T and transcode it to H.264/AAC mobile phone compliant DVB-H signal (adding an ESG on-the-fly with notifications as well). What the system also supports is live streaming over any IP bearer technology as well as providing content to the iPhone. All this is wrapped into a small Shuttle PC with a PCI card from Dektec.
What we miss is actually the DRM/CA part. However we have had some people looking at updating the OpenIPMP project from Sourceforge (an older project from 2006) and use the GPAC project (nice one, btw.) to encode the streams. However they never finished that. So here input is very welcome.

@jaykay mtn is the only network offering DVB-H, its not a gprs,3g thing. Its like ur home dstv,hitv,mytv thing only that its beta,u can watch wateva u want to anywhere u are,even when its raining,unlike the ones we have at home.abi u fit carry ur tv and dish with decoder waka? Check ur mail again for the device
