Man has huge piece of skull removed after collapsing at pal's house but can't remember what caused injury

Luke Reinbott was 20-years-old when fell unconscious and somehow suffered a catastrophic head injury

A 24-year-old has defied the odds to learn to walk and talk again after he had a hand-sized piece of skull removed.

Luke Reinbott was 20-years-old when fell unconscious at a friend's house and somehow suffered a catastrophic head injury.

There were no marks or sign of injury and to this day no one knows what actually happened - and Luke has no memory of it.

Surgeons had to remove a large section of his cranial bone to release pressure on his brain.

The apprentice plumber clung to life in hospital and was left him paralysed and unable to talk.

His father Paul, 58, from Toowoomba, Queensland, told the Daily Mail: "We don't know for sure exactly how it happened. It's been a tough road and he's come back from the dead.
