Definition of faithful servant

From Matthew 25 v 14-23, a faithful servant can be defined as anyone who discharges his/her duties with little or no supervision and makes most use of resources given to him.

Who is a faithful servant?

A faithful servant must possess the following qualities:

1. Love Righteousness and Hates Iniquities

A faithful servant loves righteousness and hates iniquities. The love for righteousness means the person acknowledge, see and practice every good thing. The reward for doing that is enormous. The most important ones are favor and good understanding from God and men, good health and longevity on planet earth, and promotion over fellow- men. The practice of iniquities denies the person from getting the said rewards and also brings about separation between us and God.

2. Little or No Supervision

A faithful servant discharges his/her duties with little or no supervision. This means that either with or without authority (God, boss, master, CEO,) they do the right things all the time. They are extremely particular about their work and therefore, allocate and plan their activities efficiently.

3. Contentment

According to Benjamin Franklin, "content makes poor men rich; discontent makes rich men poor". A faithful servant who is content makes most use of resources given to him by an authority. The resources given to him, either small or big, do not prevent him from making results. They are happy and value what they have and they work harder to have more when it becomes necessary. On the other hand, discontent can cause one to lose focus and everything acquired for years. Discontent arises from love for money and possession, the penchant to compare ourselves with others, unappreciative attitude and false self-identity.

4. Respect, Humility and Obedient

A faithful servant is respectful, humble and obedient. They diligently listen to instructions and practice them. These prolong our lives and bring prosperity.
It is important that we are faithful everywhere we go and anytime. Our ability to do so will lead us to many places we have never dreamed of. The main priority in our relationship with people and God should be faithfulness. " A faithful man will be richly blessed,... " (Proverbs 28 v 20).

He should have a teachable spirit too.... to teach people and be taught
