I am a rookie programmer who writes little programs using Visual Basic,  I have the passion for this programming

language and perhaps dream of becoming a good programmer but the environment where I am seems not to

encourage this,

I know lot of people needs guide in one program or the other,  Which programming language is likely the best to

go for ? Somebody should help me out

well, vb is cool, it brought me up in programming.
why not go managed code style using the .NET framework? that would be cool too.

and you might want to take a look at web apps. they make fast money here in Nigeria.
