I'll like to comment on portions of your submission that I disagree with PassingShot:This is your reponse to the loss of 60,000 jobs. And this comment of yours is suggesting that all the 60000 lost jobs were actually direct/direct federal government construction jobs. I disagree. these lost jobs is a result of lack of investment from investors (mostly private and foreign). And these investors are stalling because they are yet to understand this government's policy direction. The headline reads “Nigerian economy slows in Q2” and not “Nigerian Economy Slumps”, Both are not same and don’t mean same thing.I disagree again with this point of yours.. The moment PMB was declared winner in March, did you notice that attention shifted from GEJ to PMB? Everybody was interested in PMB's plans not GEJ's plan. From that moment, GEJ's plans no matter how bright it might be became unsustainable/short term to investors while PMB's became a long term plan. Between that March to May 29, the economy was more or less on yellow waiting for PMB's green light. So in my humble opinion, I'll blame PMB for the slowdown in growth for second quarter. The loss is as a result of JP Morgan’s delisting and it was definitely expected following the announcement. The loss is not Nigeria’s loss but investors. When investors have gained in the past, was the gain given or shared with the country? This argument is also faulty... investors are interested in making profit from rendering services that in turn provide jobs for the citizenry and improving our economy. Asking if the investors gains in the past was shared with the country is very irrational. If the investors can't make profit, how do you expect them to invest in the critical areas of our economy? the 60000 jobs I spoke of earlier is a direct consequence of situations like this. 4 Likes |

bushdoc9919:lol, tell the op to ask buhari to reactivate it, I agree with you about GEJ relationship with the West but in terms of infrastructural developments it was China. GEJ focused more on infrastructure and reactivation of local industries. Markets were rising and local industries were booming, especially in the construction, agricultural, automobile industries. Many manufacturing firms started operations in Nigeria.. 1 Like |

This is the dumbest defence to a clueless body odour government I have ever read. The economy actually surged after the elections as evidenced by a positive response in the stock market. A direct consequence of a successful transition from a democratic president to another. This was irrespective of the falling oil prices, political stability and security are extremely important for emerging markets and Nigeria had proven to be serious with attaining the former a good news for investors. All Buhari needed was to seize this opportunity with swift economic policies to boost our progress. Rather he went into a coma and switched the country into body odour autopilot. Investors got weary which led to stagnation and loss of jobs in fluid sectors like construction. The issue of JP Morgan putting us on a watch list in January holds no water. A watch list is a watch list and one is expected to simply carry out some reforms to get off that list. It is not an automatic death sentence. Unfortunately with 4 months of coma the camel's back was broken and we got delisted. Note that all the articles mentioned that Nigeria's delisting came much earlier than was expected in such scenarios. That act has led to monumental losses in our stock market. 2 Likes |

luchy34: I could say the same about oil boom era ....back in the 1970's. The problem was....no self sustainability. Plus...all them industries....we are still importing the parts from abroad and assembling them in Nigeria. You can do that if oil price is high...but once it drops....it becomes a lot difficult. As for construction.....why won't it boom....when we had lots of oil money flowing in due to high prices. Now....what is going to happen with low oil prices.? What Nigeria needs is an economy not dependent on the rise and fall of oil prices. We should forget about oil. 2 Likes |

Voodoo economist. Pls try harder. I am in d UK on visit and for the first time since current democracy, Nigeria is rationing foreign exchange. In Feb, one could buy a Ferrari with a Naira debit card, once u have d cash in ur account. Today, every debit card is rationed to $300 a day. Many families can't pay school fees, and medical bills. Very soon, we will start queueing for essential commodity cos importers don't have dollars. Just like it was before Buhari was kicked out last time. Let's pray it doesn't get to that again. 1 Like 1 Share |

Mboi:Stop deceiving yourself because of hate; put away the hate and bitterness in your heart for a second and think. Regarding subsidy, the requests of Nigerians were simple, the government should have gone after the few people (cabal) that stole over 75% of the subsidy funds before asking Nigerians to tighten their belts with an over 120% increase in fuel prices. In 2007, OBJ paid N188bn for subsidy but in 2010, GEJ paid N2.13Trillion for the same subsidy. Simple investigations revealed that almost 75% of that amount was cornered by the subsidy cabal but instead of going after the cabal that made the subsidy payments inefficient, the FG decided to cancel the subsidy completely and punish Nigerians. Let us apply some common sense and not political or ethnic sense here, how can the government tell suffering Nigerians that because they were too scared to go after a few of their friends, the entire Nigerian population should suffer?... I'm sure you were even also involved in that protest because at that time, Nigerians were not divided into the APC vs PDP mess; at that time only common sense was at play. As for Bokoharam, Buhari has gone to neighboring countries to seek their cooperation in only 'blocking their borders' and preventing BH guys and weapons from moving in and out freely. Buhari is not asking or permitting camerounian or chadian soldiers to enter into Nigerian soil to fight BH or help us liberate any captured towns just the way it happened in the past regime. There is a very clear difference between both situations and I expect you as a reasonable person to understand the simple difference (just in case you weren't aware before now). 4 Likes |

lawanson44: You REALLY MISSED THE PLOT OF THE STORY! It goes like this: *You were jobless for the last six years of GEJ's administration! *You even tried to start a cottage self employment like opening a barbing Saloon or even become a tailor but the lack of electricity and cost of fuel, no to mention non-availability, thwarted all your efforts When you made enquiries, you were told that President Jonathan is too scared of the "The CABALS", to call them to order. Then election came and you vowed that even if you must die, you will use your vote wisely, this time. *You voted out the clueless one, despite his sharing Dollars to every Eediot that promised to get him a Phantom block vote (Ooni of Ife, OPC, Tompolo and Dokubo, Bishop Oleedepo and "bling-bling" Oritshejafor, Yiibos, e.t.c) Now that you have used your vote to elect PMB, within two months, electricity became so stable you began to wonder whether you are in Obodo Oyinbo? Despite the comatose nature Jonad@ft left the economy, you could at least start your own small business till when things improve, if at all you are even interested in working for anyone again! Price of Oil is falling daily but since Jonad@ft and his "Cabal" has stolen dry our National treasury while wasting the lil'bit left, JP Morgan felt this is the best time to "enslave Nigerians" by arm-twisting us to a second "financial slavery" or threatening us with de-listing. *You think: This sounds like Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) 2.0 that occurred around 186-88 under IBB! *Your Government acted in your interest and protected you from unending slavery though their is a belt-tightening price to pay for it but the "End will justify the Means", as we say. *You are ready to weather the STORM that comes before the CALM! ... because you know you are on the right track. #Wailers and Praise singers meanwhile, are still crying and #Wailing all day. If a bank fires 1200 staff, they all can as well use all the jumbo pay they have been earning all these years, to start a small scale business and survive and even become a Mogul like Dangotte or Otedola, ina few years time .... except you are telling me that they rae as foolish and profligate as the former President, in his wasteful ways and short-sightedness! Whatever be the case, for YOU, "Life is GOOD and even getting BETTER"! Voting out the clueless, effing Muppet called GEJ is the best decision you've ever made in a long time ..... and customers are already swamping you with "business orders" so wetin concern "Agbero" will overload? #WAILERS can keep crying and waiting for 5K monthly stipend while you are on to your first "self-made" million. There is dignity in Labour. L@GOON nor far from here! God bless PMB as he moves this nation forward, even in troubled times. Lastpage! 7 Likes 1 Share

But the Nought and South-Waste out of sheer hatred and bigotry decided to vote GEJ out and elected an inexperienced "Body Language" Abokii into power who has no clue of whom to bring in as ministers to form his cabinet and hiding under the disguise of "Wanting those who are not Corrupt" to form his cabinet!
